avoid oriental riverside hotel to stay if your business is a way from location very local hotel, seen very few foreigner but seems empty place, full of local people rooms are old and smelly thanks to management final got a upgrade must stay a way, there are many real five star hotel around, avoid it as long as u r not force to stay there

Convenient for Conferences, otherwise skip
I've stayed in this hotel a number of times over the years. In the past I always chose the river view, but really all you get is a little sliver of view, so I went for the "garden" view this time. One of the big problems with this side of the hotel is there is an overhang outside the building which is supported by big metal struts...throughout the day and night you'll hear lots of weird noises as the thing expands and contracts with the heat and cold, or shifts in the wind. Actually, come to think of it, the sound proofing isn't great all-around, so lets just say you'll be hearing *lot's* of weird noises from your fellow guests. One of there more exasperating design features are the doors. They don't slow down as they close, so any time anybody leaves the room in your hallway, you'll hear a loud boom. It's a good place to stay if you want to quickly head back to your room during a conference, but otherwise, it's a little over priced. Plenty of shopping and restaurants near by, as well as the river-walk.

Good business hotel with a view
I was in this hotel because I attended a conference in the adjacent convention center. Overall, my impression is favorable: medium-quality (yet not cheap, but abundant) breakfast and lunch buffets, wide rooms (with a very nice panorama---see picture---if you choose one with a "Bund view"). The service is correct, as is the price They allow you to keep the room till 6pm by paying 50% of the full-day price, which is convenient if your flight is in late evening. I would not choose this hotel for a honeymoon, but it provides a good option for business travelers. The hotel is not very close to the town center, but has a convenient modern shopping center very close to it, where the compulsive souvenir-shopper can find whatever needed.

this is a pretty good hotel after all, except that the costs are rather high considering the amenities provided.breakfast is good, but the service is average, not everyone speaks a language other than Mandarin Chinesethe shower needs some understanding before it can be usedif you have a congress in the adjoining Shanghai convention center, then it is great, and I was.the room is large, and the internet is free which is good, the tv has few non chinese channels for a luxury hotelmost importantly , they dont change money at the reception. instead you use the currency machine, and so the passport or id is a mustthe front reception is quite luke warm to most requests, so one gets to become very independent in a day or so!

Good hotel, great location
Nice hotel, friendly staff that speak enough English to get by. Rooms are generous, well furnished, in particular the exec suites which I enjoyed as a bonus upgrade for the first night. Very close to the Bund tunnel, the subway and a lot of sightseeing and shopping.
