I have been travelling to Launceston for last few years to watch AFL games at Aurora Stadium and previous times had stopped at a cheaper hotel ..decided to change back to Balmoral so pleased I did .. Trevor the manager is so helpful and friendly ..nice rooms ..great resteraunt ..and perfect location..I will be back

Very happy
Stayed here on business. I come to Launceston four times a year and this has been the best hotel I've stayed at so far. Big room, comfy bed, excellent cooked breakfast made to order. Good on-site parking and close to everything in the CBD. Friendly managers to top it off. This is my new go-to place.

Friendly Service
My Partner and I stayed at balmoral on York for two nights, it is close to the city and has plenty of parking on site, we were a little disappointed with the standard of the room although functional and adequate it could do with updating.That said the staff were friendly and helpful particularly the manager. We had the continental breakfast which was very good.

A comfortable motor inn.
We were really expecting a pretty nice hotel as it is highly recommended on trip advisor for Launceston. Upon approaching the hotel, the four of us looked at each other thinking what have we done.The old adage, don't judge a book by its cover is true in this case. This hotel is nothing more than an upmarket motor inn. The rooms are big and basic, have great views over looking the city of Launceston and the football ground in the distance. These rooms are not the Hilton/Four Seasons/Shangri La. They are the old motor Inn type that offer a comfortable nights sleep.The rooms are good value for the price, however if you are wanting something special, these are not for you. Easy walking distance to the central parts of Launceston. We stayed in a large room that had two double beds. This room was ideal for young families. We didnt try breakfast here, but apparently they put on quite a spread.

Great Spot
Hotel a little on the old side but everything is in launceston, however rooms were clean, well maintained, large, we had an extra bed in its own room as well, great breakfast, and relatively priced. free car parking, walking distance to everything.
