Well located, clean & warm
Room was a good size and ours was one with a kitchenette which we really appreciated. Don't think this complex would ever get any natural warmth into it but the heater worked well. On the main road, within walking distance of the town centre. Nice views, single glazed and very clean. Think the bathroom had been recently renovated. Hubby enjoyed the gym. TV reception was, perhaps, the only let down as that was poor. Good value for money - we picked up a deal and then got upgraded!

Cannot fault the location but the rooms are still a bit dated
I have stayed here a couple of times now and the location is perfect. A 10 minute downhill walk to the centre of Queentown and a 15 - 20 minute uphill walk to get back to the hotel. We had hired a big 12 seater Toyota Hiace Minibus and I was initially a bit worried about car parking, but there was parking available on their level 2 car park for large vans or buses. Our room was a two bedroom apartment. The bedrooms are upstairs and the kitchenette and lounge with balcony is downstairs. The rooms look over Lake Wakatipu so the location from the "view" perspective is pretty good. I think they could still do a bit of work to spruce up the place though. I noticed that the carpets are newer than the ones I saw on my first visit but the chairs, tables, sofas in the living area need updating. The colour on the sofa upholstry had started to fade away. The bathrooms were satisfactory though and the hotel is fully serviced with efficient housekeeping staff. I would come back to this hotel again based on its location but it wouldnt be wise for the hotel to rely on location alone in the future and a bit of refurbishment will go a long way to help the property realise its full potential.

Beautiful views, very dated and incredibly basic hotel
Well Queenstown is gorgeous with views to die for. The rooms here give you that view, simply breathtaking. Which is more to be said of the reception, bar and rooms.Christ this is a basic hotel that must have been updated back in the 1970s!The staff are pleasant enough if not a little incompetent, the bar is overpriced and boring - small with the tiniest, crappy gas fire and the rooms? Well basic as they get. Rubbish bed, old tv and it's like staying in some old hotel from years ago.However if you're on a budget then fine. You can get a cab into Queenstown for under NZ $10 and it's 5 minutes away and as mentioned the views are lovely. The room was NZ $115 which isn't much I guess but I'd still expect a more up to date hotel.Oh yeah, and you get 20 mins free wi-fi in the lobby and there's none in the rooms at all but a cable for your laptop, if you've brought one that is.

Clean but dated
This hotel was inexpensive for the area but for a few (2-10) more dollars a night you could stay elsewhere. The furniture was dated. The rooms lacked any style. There was not even a comfortable chair to sit in. Being lake view with an outdoor patio, there was a slight smell- not fresh. The beds were soft but passable. It is a 10 minute walk from the center of town. The foot path short cut is very dark at night. Room service was not great. They brought the sandwich I ordered ( which tasted good) but I asked for water and none was furnished. The cleaning staff left the sink stopper down twice and I could not get the sink to drain. On the positive side, the staff was very nice and helpful. Overall I was disappointed. This was my least favorite hotel in a 2 week trip around NZ.

amazing lake views and great family room
booked directly on their website, two queen beds were very good even for grown up kids. brekkie was fantastic. free covered parking. We were on 3rd floor so view of lake was awesome and relaxing. will stay again, when visiting Qtown
