Great balance of luxury and relaxation
We stayed for 2 nights in a suite overlooking the Marina (opposite side from the pool) - large lounge, separate WC, large bedroom, 2 distinct bathroom areas. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. All of the members of staff were extremely attentive and friendly, and I particularly appreciated the nice balance of luxury with a friendly, relaxed approach. The Lobster Benedict for breakfast was just amazing, and all of our meals (taken on the terrasse) were superb - combining local ingredients with lots of imagination to create great flavours. The lounge on the 11th floor was very relaxing and a great place for a drink before dinner. Many thanks to all the staff who made us feel so welcome.

4 star hotel but very nice
First of all, I have to say, I booked this as a package deal on Amazon, so naturally the price was really good. The location was a distance from downtown area but I had a vehicle so location didn't matter. Parking is available onsite (valet) but you can park right across the street for about $8. Staff were very nice and the restaurant had some fabulous dishes to check out. I ordered a small glass of champagne, which took forever to get, so the waitress was kind enough to pick this bill up, despite I saying it was okay. I gave her a nice tip regardless. The hotel had a runners table so if you run, when you return they had green apples and water waiting for you. The beach was about a 15 - 20 min walk, passing other hotels, and a nice walk through the canals of Venice Beach. Overall, I found the place charming, a nice beach, nice gym and a nice retreat from Hollywood. Not far from airport either.

Below Par
You just expect better when you book at a Ritz Carlton. The room was adequate but dated. The old cast iron tub and slightly dirty shower curtain could have been in any old Marriott. The sink failed to drain properly requiring a visit from engineering. The carpets and upholstered furniture were worn. The restaurant was exorbitantly priced which is fine but inconsistent with the setting. A letter left in the room apologized in advance for likely delays in service due to a large conference in residence. The delays paled in comparison to being woken up at 3 and 4 am for two consecutive nights by drunken, loud attendees. The pool was perpetually roped off to accommodate the large group's events. All in all, a disappointment.

One night stop over in Los Angeles
We had a very warm welcome from the bell peoble to the check in person. The room was very nice furnished, but the building seems to have a bad room to room isolation, we could hear sneezing our neighbor. But the harbour view with the small balcony is very nice and gives some value back. The Taxi ride from the Airport is around US20. With a 30 min walk we were able to reach the famous venice beach. If you prefer the near to the airport this hotel is a nice variation to the known airport hotels of LA

Perfect
My husband and I stayed here two weeks ago MAN it was lovely , our car was parked for us as we checked in ,check in was quick , we were taken to our room, well it was beautiful , huge big bed so comfy , lovely armchair with pouffe , desk and chair , tv safe, big wardrobe , robes, iron and board, and a lovely balcony overlooking the Marina, where I could just see the Cheese cake Factory where we ate that night . The room also had a very large bathroom with shower,bath and large sink with mirror. The hotel itself was lovely and all but little service we had, as we ate out both nights and did not use the hotel amenities, was perfect , in words I cannot express enough how lovely it was I felt extremely lucky to be staying in such a lovely hotel .
