Extraodinary!
This is not the normal hotel you can think of, it's really maximum using of the available space, and what you see from the hotel pics, really cant tell how compact it look like. I took the Premier Loft, which is suppose to be more spaces then the studio, but however I realised it the same size of room you are getting, except the bed is on the top floor and the bottom is the workstation. I really like the idea of split bathroom and toilet, especially if you are staying with another person. I am a size M, 5'4" Asian women, when i step up to the bed, it seem alright for me, but if you are taller, maybe you will need to bend a little to slide into your bed, haha! The reception is not friendly and always long-Q! Location is just average, but for me, I consider good, cos i seldom walk and for the past 2 nights, walked from the hotel to clark quay for dinner and after dinner I walked back to the hotel, really not that far, but trust me, if you can't walk like me, dun go too far, as you need to walk back afterward.

You feel like an Cubical
I read a lot about the design of this hotel, but when I arrived to Studio M I realised that design doesn't mean comfort at all in this one! This is the worse hotel where I stayed up to now!The room are just like a cubical, bathroom (if we call it so...) is just too tiny, you can't even have a proper shower without bumping on the walls, WC is the size of an airplane rest room. you have to wash your face in the "in-room sink"... and when you go "up" to sleep at the mezzanine you have a sign prompting you to mind your head, cause you might hit it on the ceiling when waking up...What kind of Hotel is this? Extremely disappointed with it.The breakfast was just Ok, food isn't what you should be looking for in this hotel. The pool is fine: a long 25meters (and I guess 4 meters width) pool. The location is good as it is close to Clark's Quay. The check-in/out is terrible and staff is very unfriendly. Conclusion: don't waste time and money on this one... you won't miss much if you don't visit it.

Never again!
The Studio M Hotel has a lot of potential, but the rigid, by-the-book service causes it to pale in comparison with the legendary hospitality of other hotels in Singapore. I was considering extending my stay for the weekend, but quickly decided against it!CHECK IN: The avant garde front desk is circular, so there is no clear formation for queues. As a result when the desk is busy, the wait can be rather long and disorganized. I arrived on the SQ early morning flight and inquired about the possibility of early check in to clean up before heading to the office. The desk agent informed me that although there were rooms available, I would have to pay a half day rate for early check in. This was quite surprising as my hotels from 3 prior business trips have always gone out of their way to be accommodating if a room was available. Ultimately, after I expressed my view, the manager took the extra charge off.ROOM: The room was duplex style with a queen size bed on the lower level and a small couch and desk area on the upper level. Aside from going upstairs once to check things out, I did not go back upstairs again during my week stay. The bathroom was split up into two very small rooms: one for the standing shower and one for the toilet with the sink in the main room. I found the toilet to be extremely claustrophobic as when you close the door, you are shut in a tiny space without any natural light. The shower was ok with decent water pressure, quick access to hot water and nice smelling toiletries. My room was cleaned well each day.BREAKFAST: My rate included breakfast which was pretty good. During my week-long stay, the offerings changed each day with consistent staples like the omelet and egg station, daily hot soups, fresh fruits and more western options like breakfast pastries, bacon and cereal.FACILITIES: The hotel has a narrow lap pool and a small gym. I was a bit surprised that the gym was not fully air conditioned as working out in the heat in Singapore is quite difficult. The area by the pool is very attractively laid out with ample loungers and cool water spaces.WIFI: While included in the rate, wifi connectivity was spotty and required frequent calls to the front desk to reset service. There was one morning where the wifi was completely out.PARTING THOUGHT: I would not stay at the Studio M Hotel again

Bad Front office
I really like the room's cleanliness and decorations. After a long flight I landed and went straight to the hotel. The hotel is well located within the Business District and amenities are within reach. The front desk staff really needed a training in customer service and how to speak to people.

Fancy Design, Lousy Functionality
I was staying at this hotel from April 20-24 2013 because I was attending meetings in the area. As a business traveller, we always look for comfort, practicality and location with where you stay. This hotel scored in 1 out of the 3 areas. ComfortThe loft style room design looks very nice in pictures, but it was really a chore to have to go up and down the stairs for every time you wanted to go to the loo as my bed was upstairs. I liked the full length windows but because I had an inside facing room, I had to draw the curtains most of the time as you could see clearly into the rooms especially at night. Breakfast served was also very disappointing given that the price for a night's stay was comparable to a night stay at other 4-Star chains. Variety was non-existent and out of the 3 mornings I came down for breakfast, I was without a fork twice, once there were no plates ready and once one the main dish was left totally empty for more than 10 minutes.PracticalityThe fact that the bed and the bathroom were on different levels is the start of this failed design. Failure number 2, the typical bathroom is split into 3. We have the bathroom on 1 side of the room, the toilet on another and the sink/ wash basin smack in the living room. So one cannot be blamed for walking naked around the room as you move around in the open bathroom concept. Failure number 3, the wardrobe was another open concept with 1 rail hanging from the ceiling, with 3 hangers(only) and drawers built into the couch. So as a traveller who is in town for meetings, you probably have more than 3 shirts to hang up and does not include your pants and suit. LocationThe only good thing about this place is where it is located. Near enough to the CBD without actually being in it. There are plenty of restaurants offering a variety of different cuisine. The walk along Robertson quay was also quite delightful after a long day being insideAll in all, I would not recommend staying here unless you really have to. I just discovered 2 more hotels in the vicinity who would have probably provided better facilities at the same price.
