Missed Out Big Time On Customer Relationship
I was booked for 3 nights at the Regent Singapore for a corporate training activity. As usual, I checked reviews in TripAdvisor and the hotel's favorable reviews had me looking forward to my stay.And I was not disappointed for the most part of my stay. The hotel lobby is impressive. Check-in was very efficient. The way up to the guest rooms was via any one of 4 scenic elevators smack in the middle of the lobby. The best thing I liked about the room I occupied was the quality of the bed. It was high and the mattress was very firm. The pillows were not too soft nor not too hard. The bathroom carried L'Occitane toiletries. The towels were still new and fluffy. I really liked the shower. It was jet-strong. The mini bar was amply stocked. The overall design of the room is that of the traditional kind though. Nothing fancy. In fact, the commode's semi-Oriental design seemed off as the rest of the furniture were Western. My biggest and only complaint about the room was the limited cable channels available. For a 5-star hotel, one would expect more than just re-runs of Glee over Star World, or action shows in AXN. Of course ithey have CNN and BBC news. The rest of the channels are local. I like the food at the Basilico restaurant. Breakfast buffet range of choices was pretty wide, and so was their lunch buffet. Everything great, right? So far yes, until this morning, when I woke up because of unexpected abdominal cramps. I called Front Desk to request for Panadol or any commercially available painkiller. The Front Desk person tells me that no, they do not have Panadol or painkillers but I can buy some from the nearest 7-11 a few blocks away, in Tanglin Mall and that he could not send someone out to buy for me. So, I went out to buy the Panadols myself. Under normal circumstances that was really ok, but at that moment I felt like crying. Because not only was I in pain, the Front Desk person told me to go to 7-11 myself .... at 3:15 IN THE MORNING.

Enjoyable Stay
We recently stayed 8 nights at the Regent. This was our first trip to Singapore, and at first the sheer volume of available accommodations was intimidating. We did some research, and although the Regent was not our first choice, we were very glad we chose to stay here. All the staff we encountered were extremely professional and friendly. The lobby was sparkling clean and relaxing with all the fresh flowers and live music during tea. The breakfast was wonderful with a vast selection of both Asian and Western offerings, all fresh and tasty. Our room was spotless and the bathroom was large and nicely appointed. The pool was a little small, but the service was over the top by the attendants with refreshments and towels. I was a little put-off that wi-fi was an extra charge, but there is a business center on the second floor with free access on house computers. We would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again should our travels take us back to Singapore.

Quality,,as you would expect.
stayed at this exquisite hotel for two nights on a stop over to New Zealand and again for two nights on our return,,so glad we did, fantastically polite staff and very helpfull and polite,( very restrained after two irate north americans throwing all of their toys out of their pram over a minor incident) bars were excellent as were the restuarants, nice comfy lounge areas, couldnt fault the place,, the interior atrium is a bit daunting if you dont like heights,,stick to the walls,,,

Not up to standard
The welcome and public areas were very impressive. The room recaptured the Classic Empire style of days gone by. Sadly some of the details were also well in the past. A great frustration to my wife was the hairdryer provided in the room. There was no power point in the bathroom. Instead there was one just outside the door but with only a 1m lead, the hairdryer could not be used in front of the mirror. A call to reception resulted in the helpful advice "try using it at the writing desk" No, she wanted use it in the bathroom in front of a mirror (unreasonable?). Another call and an extension lead appeared. However the hairdryer plug was not compatible with it. Another frustrated call resulted in a visit by the duty manager who then returned with an adapter plug so that the hairdryer and extension chord could be used. The room needed a repaint. The ceiling had black marks from where the a/c duct blew across it.To make a cup of coffee required the jug to boiled on the floor (again, a short chord and no plug in the bathroom)The location was within a pleasant walk to Orchard Rd.Beware the cost of in-house food and drink. There were plenty of better choices within walking distance like Pete's Place at the Grand Hyatt and small bistros serving the nearby office towers.Certainly not 5 Star .... well short of the mark.

Comfortable Classic
3 night escape from Hong Kong with the family to visit friends.We've stayed here before so knew what to expect and that's why we returnedIt's a 'classic' as it's a little older and rooms could probably soon need updating - but everything is clean and everything has it's place.Graciously upgraded to a One-Bedroom Suite with Regency Club access was very welcome.Kids slept on the sofa bed in the living room area. Suite has 2 bathrooms which helps too.It's a stroll next door for shopping, and a wander to Orchard across the street - location is perfect. Don't hear anything from the traffic, but maybe a little from the hotel as it's an atrium.Pool is a little small compared to newer properties but it works for usMelissa in the Regency Club was very good with the kids and sincere thanks go to her and the team up there. Concierge had the right answers - babysitter arrange without fuss.If the chance arises - we'll be back for a 3rd timeOnly comment would be the need for hotel wide wifi inclusive with the room rate...not j
