Not as good as last time
Firstly, this hotel is pretty good. The service is good, the rooms a fine and e breakfast is good. Nikko lounge is beneficial and the offerings are also quite nice. However, the bed is very firm and the "little things" take the shine off a bit. It is just getting a little bit tired. I was on a 10th floor nikko room, and I must admit that it is a level that has not been renovated.The location is very good with heaps of shopping and restaurants within walking distance.This is the second time I have stayed here for business in about 12 months, and I would probably try somewhere different next time, just to experiment.

A little dated
I stayed here for business with a colleague recently and have to say I was a little disappointed. The reception was nice however there are not many seats in reception and what is there are cheap looking leather sofas. The check in staff were very polite however after being told for the 2nd time at 3pm that my room was still not ready I had to ask to be given an alternative room as I had been travelling from the early hours. My room was ok, not 5 star standard though. The bathroom was certainly showing signs of needing a re-furb. The view of the harbour was good and although the road is in-between this, the sound proofing was good. I found the room service, lobby bar and main restaurant menus almost identical and quite limiting. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and I was topped up with coffee and tea regularly. I thought the wifi was expensive especially if you were not staying for 1 week and the limitations on the number of devices you can use the wifi on is poor service. My room smelt of damp which I wasn't that pleased about as you don't get fresh air at the best of times in HK, but he hotel did not seem to care when I mentioned it to them. I didn't ask to swap rooms and they didn't offer.If given the choice I would stay elsewhere as for the cost, there are better hotels available.

I stayed at this hotel when it was practically brand new 25 years ago, they have under gone a few renovations I am sure over the years but the service, public space and rooms are still being kept up to a 4 stars standard.Good location, good buffet breakfast but the Chinese restaurant is a bit on the pricey side.

good location, nice restaurants but dated, overpriced and overrated.
We had business dinners there at the Chinese restaurant as well as the Japanese one, both were good in terms of food and services. However the accommodation was a major letdown. I should have been allocated a non-smoking double room as requested at booking (booked and paid for well in advance). I was very disappointed when the check-in staff told me the hotel was fully booked and gave me a smoking room with two beds. The room was horrendous, not only the room (beddings and soft furnishing) sank, the bathroom smelt like ashtray too, like the windows have not been opened for months (poor ventilation system in general). I got to move to a non-smoking room the next day and was given sincere apology. Delivery of the luggage took time due to the number of tours staying at the hotel.

Overpriced!
I stayed at Hotel Nikko last week. It was the cheapest I could find using the company hotel booking tool, but still the most expensive one I have ever stayed at in Hong Kong.I booked a king bed and got two twins pushed together. They changed it the next day after I complained though.While I stayed on a non-smoking floor, every morning there was a very strong smell of cigarettes in the hall. The bathroom was not cleaned properly on a daily basis. There were always spots and stains left all over.Did not try any restaurants as they were just too expensive.I had a much better experience staying in The Royal Garden just across the street a number of times prior to this visit, and at a much lower price!
