1.Extremely busy lobby. Could not fault the location and efficiency though wish they had more 'soul'.2. No one smiled when I was checking in and even more apparent at Loong Yat Heen where I took a biz associate to lunch. Food was excellent. Overall I left with impression the employees did not seem to enjoy working in their hotel.3.Room was clean but smelt of smoking from previous occupants the moment the door was opened. RA quickly sprayed freshener to overcome.4.Shuttle buses from/to Kowloon station and other hotels stop right in front. MTR access below hotel and also right next door.5. The room had no luggage rack or coffee table so ended up placing it on the bed and dirtying the linen which was unitentional.6. Also in this age, to be charged HK130 for 24 hrs of internet on a single device is strange when you can get a prepaid data plan for 3 days use up to 5 devices for $98 from HKCSL retail outlet on Cameron Road.I was fortunate to find a good price under HKD800 for the days I was there in June on a Mon-Wed stay just before the long weekend. Certainly will stay again for the location and price.

Great hotel experience
The Kowloon Hotel is an exceptional hotel experience. If you are planning a visit to Hong Kong put this hotel at the top of your list. It is centrally located on a subway stop, within walking distance to the harbour and the ferry to Hong Kong Island (ask for a harbour view room). Pay a little more and upgrade to the Harbour Club and you will receive a first-class experience -- you can avoid lines at check-in and check-out (go directly to the club on the 17th floor). The Club lounge is open from early morning to 11:00 at night with snacks, food, wine. Staff is first rate and the breakfast buffet includes Western, Asian and European. You can take a taxi, train or subway to the airport (all reasonable). There is no pool at the hotel -- but there is so much to do you won't miss it.

Great hotel. Great location.
Okay, so I was a bit nervous when booking this hotel because everyone complained about the hotel's room size, but I could not pass up the cost or location, and I am so glad I stayed there. Also, the staff spoke amazing English. First and foremost, upgrade to the Executive Suite. It costs a bit more than a standard room, but is still more affordable than other hotels in that area, and breakfast and WiFi are included, along with complimentary food and drink in the executive lounge on the 17th floor and countless discounts at the hotel restaurants and bars. Not only that, but you can dodge the lines in the hotel lobby and check in and out in the executive lounge on the 17th floor. Just enter through the lobby and go straight up the elevator to the 17th floor to check in. To put my review in perspective, I am 5'10'' tall, and my wife is 5'4'' tall. We had no problems with the room size. I could see the bed being a bit of an issue if you are 6'0'' tall or taller. We also carried backpacks, so we did not have tons of luggage. The staff in the lounge on the 17th floor were wonderful throughout our stay from moment of check in to check out. Ask Alice, Karena, or Calvin about anything, and they will do all they can to make sure you are taken care of. The room had floor to ceiling windows with a beautiful harbor view. The room was also very clean. In room you have a safe to keep any valuables as well as mini bar and coffee maker. Option to take a bath or shower. The shower was wonderful, and the hotel provides soap gel and shampoo. They also provide you with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Hair dryer is also provided. Also, your room will receive two complimentary bottles of water. In the morning the staff will deliver your paper. You may also request laundry services, which are outstanding and prompt. Bed is firm, but I liked it and had a great night's sleep every night I was there.The hotel breakfast is great and is included in the price if you upgrade to executive stay. It is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel. The breakfast meets the needs of those with Eastern, Western, and European taste. I strongly recommend the waffles and pork dumplings. The restaurant also serves up some good food and drinks. I had room service deliver a pizza to me, and it was great.You can also pick up an umbrella at the front desk of the hotel. They are complimentary, unless you lose them, which I did. Right outside the hotel is the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station, which is extremely convenient when traveling all over Hong Kong. You can also take a taxi to and from the airport right to the front door of the hotel, which I strongly recommend. It costs around 230 HKD, which is about 30 something bucks. It's a really nice drive in and takes about 30-40 minutes to and from the airport.Extra bonuses: 5 minute walk to Star Ferry and Hollywood Walk. Steps off Nathan Road. Shopping on lower level, 5 minute walk to Harbour City Shopping area, currency exchange right across the street in Chunking Mansion building.

Good hotel in the tst, kowloon area
For the price paid Kowloon Hotel offers good value. Clean modern design rooms albeit small. Was allowed to check in at before check in time for free which is not common in HK. The only downside is that internet was not free.

Sitting on top of shopping and train station
Reference point: Stayed in club floor on business trip.The Kowloon Hotel is a smaller business and holiday hotel just next to big brothers like Peninsula and Sheraton. Location wise very convenient should you need to move around the town. Just two stations and you are across the bay for more lively night life - that well deserved cold mug and bites. And nearest station is in basement of the hotel.Hotel it self shows some signs of the years and lobby area can get crowded in case tourist group is checking in or out. Though, you will be served and not left behind to wait even groups are moving in and out.Staff professionalism was positive surprise. They got any reasonable wishes looked after in no time and had a very good sense of humor to deliver they service and attention to customers. Rooms are small in size, but everything you need is there. I would not stay a week here, but two to three nights goes well. Staying in club floor actually works well if you have small meetings or need to meet people who agree to come to meet you in your hotel. You can receive visitors in club lounge and refreshments are served promptly. Moving between your room and club lounge does not require use of lift which makes it swell. I will return to this hotel as and when my next need for hotel is in this neighborhood.
