Hotel with impressive views and service
Stayed here for 5 days recently for business and was impressed with the hotel. The staff really make an effort especially the guys out front who are always very eager to arrange a cab for you. I went for a run one very hot and humid morning and upon return was greeted outside the hotel with a bottle of ice cold water, a chilled cloth and massive smiles and laughter as to what was I thinking going for a run. There is great attention to detail, from receiving your laundry all very neatly presented (looked like I had just purchased it) to the floor mats in the lift which are changed each day of the week. Handy if you have lost track of time while on holiday..just look at the floor of the lift to find out which day of the week it is!The view I had from the hotel was very impressive - 51st level and many a day was spent working and peering out the large window across the bay to Kowloon.The location of the hotel is great with the train station very close (first stop Kowloon) and with the obligatory shopping centre below selling all sorts of high end goods. One downside is that service in the restaurant (breakfast) is a little slow and the steak I had at the grill was just ok. there is a handy little cafe in the walkway leading from the hotel to the shopping centre that sells not bad coffee and the young girl who served me there was very helpful with information about the city and how to get about. I would return to this hotel without any hesitation.

Amazing stay
Stayed here for 3 nights, it was totally worth it. Hotel staff performance was excellent, food was awesome and the room was amazing. Everything about this property was amazing, my uploaded photos tell everything. Next to the hotel is Pacific Place Mall, there are lots of nice restaurants and bars around. After staying at several Shangri-La properties especially this one, I become a huge fan of them, they really won my heart.

worth paying a little bit more- relax
have stayed here 3 times now and found it to be a majestic hotel. It offers wonderful rooms, the lounge is perfect for a relax at the end of the day. Spa facilities - perfect, outside pool and spa - great. Staff are fantastic, helpful and happy to do what they can to make your stay wonderful. Close to the Peak, which is a must to visit. Restaurant, great range and fresh food to choose from.

Best ever
I have stayed at other properties in this chain but this one is a true 5 star with the very best personal service of any hotel that I have stayed, The registration, ambience and decor, the setting and especially the people are all the best. The closest standard to which I can compare is the Ritz in Singapore. The restaurants, fitness center and location in the heart of Hong Kong make this the place to stay if your business is in HK central.

beautiful
Our 4 night stay at the Island Shangrila was wonderful. From the first moment, being picked up at the airport by a private car ( arranged and paid in advance) we were treated royally. the room was exceptional with a great view over the water and Kowloon. The bathroom was extravagant with lovely products. The staff was very friendly and always happy to help. We opted for the buffet breakfast for the first morning being very tired and jetlagged, but it was so delicious that we ended up going there all mornings. The choice of beautiful fruit, Chinese cuisine, Indian dishes, Western treats was fantastic. It was a real treat to stay in this hotel.
