Good choice for your budget and comfort
I spend 3 nights there with my husband in mid april this year, very nice furnished room, incredibly comfy bed. Fantastic location on one hand it is not as noisy as you would expect from hotel in center of London so allows to chill after busy day of sightseeing, on the other hand it is just one hop from the very inner city and all the atractions, bus stop is just outside the hotel, train and tube are just short walk away. Only down side was bathroom in our room, tiny bathtub did not allow to take shower comfortably and fact that shower was permanently fixed into wall made it even harder. So big nono to that small shower cabin would do the job much better. Over all very pleased with our stay definatelly recommend to others.

Overpriced, Unhelpful Staff And Bad Location
In spite of the perhaps purposefully misleading name this hotel is not in fact in Shoreditch, it's in Bethnal Green. It is nowhere near the underground and a long walk from any mainline station. There is no parking and the handful of parking bays on the street are time restricted making them fairly useless for hotel guests. The only nearby public transport is the enormous bank of Barclays Bank sponsored cycles directly outside the hotel, however these have rather limited use if you're travelling with luggage.There rarely seems to be adequate numbers of front desk staff on duty making check in and check out painfully slow. Rooms although on the small side are generally clean. The bar stays open very late.Restaurant staff are Eastern European and struggle with English as a second language limiting their ability to deal with even the simplest of requests. There is very little flexibility with menus, if it's not the menu the kitchen don't have it. In the three years I have been visiting this hotel I have known the menu to be updated only once.Breakfast buffet is expensive and small, coffee is self serve when it's not empty. Breakfast is confined to a small corner of the restaurant so that the staff don't have to relay tables for lunch, this makes it a rather cramped affair.Overzealous door security staff seem particularly suspicious and very unhelpful when returning to the hotel out of hours.Conference rooms are small with relatively poor ventilation however there is plenty of tea and coffee normally on tap.Prior to a superficial redecoration this hotel was branded as a Days Inn and had a more appropriate 3 star rating. It now offers poor value for money and is a disappointment as a 4 star hotel.Nearby Holiday Inn Express London City and Crowne Plaza Shoreditch are both better value and better positioned.

modern, clean, 4 star luxury
nice, modern hotel very clean and luxurious with excellent facilities, secure underground parking and outstanding staff - very helpful and courteous. an extra bed in a twin room for ¿¿20 extra is well worth it, the bed was ready the next night too but we didnt need it. very good value, quiet rooms with very comfortable beds, I had a good night sleep and enjoyed my stay.

A wee 'hood in the middle of a busy burb
This was a nice change after being on the road in 4 countries over the course of 20 days, the vibe was a calm urban vibe, with experienced travellers who were more chill than your normal tourists who are driven to see all the sights. Easy bus access to Brick Lane and fabulous Indian curries, a two minute walk to an urban farm which had GREAT breakfasts and lunches in a stunning garden environ, and easy access to cabs which passed frequently if you were heading to the sights. I found the decor up to date, the rooms super clean and spacious for London standards, and was able to sprawl out nicely.The hotel bar was comfy and central in the building, making it a relaxed place where you could grab a drink until 4am (which was great, since pubs close there at 11:30pm!!!!??).Staff were mainly pleasant and fairly accomodating (the managers seemed a bit stuck up, but they didn't really interact with guests which was a bit wierd in my extensive travel experience).The only drawback was the @10 minute walk from the Tube to the property: Not so bad if you're just out exploring, but with two suitcases it was a bit of a drag.

Good hotel, minor tweaks would make excellent
Have stayed here many times over the course of several months and, on the whole, it's a very clean, attractive and well maintained hotel with some very helpful and professional staff. Fixtures and fittings are of a good standard and seem to be extremely well looked after. Always clean, in over 10 stays I've never once seen so much as a scuff on a wall or a dusty side table. My only complaint in this regard is the lack of pleasant, ambient lighting in the rooms: it's a matter of either full room lighting (which is very bright) or bedside halogen lamps that emit a rather dim, cold, bluish light. It's a minor detail but makes it rather difficult to get a comfortable level of illumination when working or relaxing in the rooms at night.Service is generally very good, in the sense that staff are almost without exception very polite, warm and genuinely keen to help. I do however get the impression that, their good intentions aside, some staff haven't benefited from training. Restaurant service in particular can be slow and at times a little careless; on my last visit I waited over 30 minutes for my food to arrive, only to find it wasn't what I ordered.As some mention, location is a little bit inconvenient in the sense it's not very close to major centres or the tube, but Bethnal Green tube is only around 10 minutes walk away so not a huge problem.
