We booked 2 rooms for the night before our ferry. The public areas were fine but the bedrooms were tired and shabby and one smelt of stale drains. One of the rooms was extremely noisy as it was next door to the air condtioning units. The staff were pleasant and although they couldn't find us another room they offered to accomodate us in a sister hotel. We didn't take up the offer as it was late and we had to be up at 4.30. Wouldn't stay here again

Stayed here on a work trip for 1 night..room was clean and tidy. No air con in room but there was a stand alone fan which was appreciated as the weather was warm outside. About 5-10 mins drive to Dover and approx 15-20 mins to Canterbury. Located on A2 so easy access to the surrounding areas. Bar staff was efficient and the hotel also has a 24 hour costa coffee bar inside. Didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on food. Car park has plenty of spaces. Overall would definitely stay there again.

Nice clean friendly hotel in a quick location.. The overall service was excellent. The room (235) was a good size,comfortable and in quiet area overlooking a patio. The food in the restaurant was of a good standard,with timely service by polite friendly staff. The chef at breakfast ensured a good supply of hot food and paid special attention to any particular needs. Aways found staff very attentive and ready to help.

Our room was an upgraded double and of a reasonable size but not really big enough to be considered an upgrade in my opinion. That said, the standard room our friends were in was tiny. I've stayed in bigger rooms in a Premier Inn that we didn't pay an upgrade price for, put it that way! The walls are thin. The first morning I was woken by what ounded like a man coughing up a lung in the room next door. That evening I heard people in both rooms adjoining us and the corridor so the quality of sleep was pretty poor.The bathroom was small and the bathroom door, battered and tatty. There was no light above the mirror - just the main light - and the extractor fan was ineffective as the mirror steamed up completely as soon as you turned the shower on. Turning the shower off again was an art in itself as you had to get the tap in exactly the right place, otherwise the bath tap or the shower head dripped. It was a very bizarre set-up!There's a safe, trouser press, iron, hairdryer, kettle + hot drink facilities and fridge. In the bathroom there's shampoo, wash gel, a shower cap and soap. Additional towels and pillows are in the wardrobe.Breakfast was ok but I've had much better. I tried a bit of everything the first day but ended up leaving much of it - the sausages were hard, the tomatoes tasted weird and the eggs weren't great. The second day I asked for poached eggs, which they cooked for me on request, and had that with toast which was a safer and nicer option. The service in the restaurant was slow. The first morning I asked for ketchup as there was only salad cream and mustard available (which I didn't fancy with my fry-up) and I'd almost finished eating by the time it arrived. We had an evening meal one night. They suggested we went to the bar while our table was prepared and said they'd call us when it was ready but half an hour later we had to go back to ask them only to find it was ready but they hadn't bothered to call us. The woman behind the bar ignored us until I commented to a friend that I was trying to get a drink, after which she came across to serve us.The food was expensive and the service slow. Some of us ordered a 3 course meal but they did not clear our main course plates away and seemed to forget we were having a dessert. People ordering off the a la carte menu weren't even asked if they wanted a dessert and when we eventually chased them up, we got them at 10.45pm. Needless to say, the second night of our stay we went out for food instead of staying in the hotel.The staff were all pretty friendly and when we asked for an additional blanket this was brought quite promptly. I got the impression that the place was understaffed and that was why they didn't call us through to the restaurant that night and why everything was so slow. As there were already quite a few diners in, they probably realised that they were struggling and were trying to stagger the service (or perhaps hope we went elsewhere!)If you just need somewhere to stay overnight and have a bite to eat for breakfast then this place is ok. If you're staying a couple of nights (like we did) then I'd advise on eating outside of the hotel.

We booked at the last minute as it was conveniently situated , but we will use it again . Excellent staff , good clean rooms , lovely food , relaxing bar ! Well situated , on the outskirts of dover but with easy reach of all areas .
