Wish we could stay longer

Had a lovely stay in a clean and well appointed room with a view that was amazing. We were lucky enough to get a corner room so had views to the beach and the north of Coogee. The staff were super friendly and most obliging giving us access to our room early. We only had one night but managed to do the marvellous Coogee to Bondi walk and eat at excellent restaurants. Will definitely return for a longer stay.

EXCELLENT HOTEL

Stayed 4 nights for business in Sydney.This hotel is nice.It is also clean.I had a room with seafront view. What a marvelous view you have when you wake up in the morning.It also really enjoyable to have the breakfast on the room terrace just infront of the sea by a nice sunny day.Breakfast is ok.Staff is nice.I recommend this hotel. Very good

Nice hotel, shame about the restaurant!

My partner and I stayed there for our anniversary and the room was fine. Everything you expect in a hotel of this type. The Ocean View room had wonderful ocean views and a lovely balcony to sit on to enjoy those views. There was only one dressing gown (bath robe) which was annoying, but otherwise it was what a Crown Plaza should be. But the food!!!! What can I say? As it was our anniversary I wanted to be sure we had a very good meal in an intimate atmosphere, so I rang and was assured it was everything I wanted. The prices for the Bluesalt Restaurant are of fine dining level ($35 -$40 main course), but that's the only similarity. The atmosphere is non-existent, just tables scattered around a narrow area adjacent to the barn where breakfast is served - and was being set up for as we ate - and the bar, with both in clear view. The food was abysmal. I had the lamb which was served almost cold, the thick sauce virtually congealed. The lamb itself was tough and sinewy. Dreadful. My partner ordered the seafood grill, which may have been OK had it not been buried under the salad and vegetables. By the time she found the seafood it was almost inedible. When the waitress mentioned that we hadn't eaten much, I politely conveyed our disappointment. She reacted as if this were a common thing and immediately offered to not charge for the two glasses of wine we'd had and the coffee we'd just ordered.Stay at the hotel, steer well clear of the restaurant!!!

Let Down by the Food

I stayed here for a work conference, and whilst the room and facilities were adequate, the food was consistently bad; from the really average breakfasts to the rock hard pasta for the buffet lunches. The rooms were clean and service great, but I will always remember it for the food!

Average hotel

We were a little disappointed with this hotel, having stayed at other Crowne Plaza hotels. The room was clean, and fairly modern but the bathroom was small and dated. We had read other reviews on trip advisor so tried to get a upgrade but was told that would cost an extra 40 dollars so we did not bother, we had a room overlooking the houses at the side of the hotel. We did ask for a high floor and was on floor 7, it was quiete and we did not hear any noise from the bar or the road. We went to the bar in the hotel one night but felt we were a nuisance to the batman who was not welcoming at all. If you want to explore Sydney we felt this hotel was to far out, a good bus service though but still a 30 minute ride. We did walk to Bondi beach along the cliff top which was great, lots of steps and hills but worth it. Front of house staff professional.We did not inc breakfast but they offered it at a reduced rate when we booked in so don't pre book!
