Excellent Breakfast & Rooftop Terrace
Beautiful lobby, decent rooms, nice pool, and amazing breakfast. Gorgeous rooftop deck to wine and dine on, with a view of the Acropolis. Room had necessities in it, nothing more nothing less. Included a courtesy 120V outlet and free WiFi. Pool was nice and quiet during the day. Saw some reviewers saying it was a noisy hotel, I actually found it to be quite quiet, but perhaps it was due to the time of the year I was there (before major tourist season). I think this hotel is a good choice for Athens.

Great location & views
Now don't get me wrong this is a lovely hotel but I have only given it 3 stars & a good rating for the following reasons: -The swimming pool is very small & not for anyone one who wants to do lengths. It's really just a cooling off Pool.The views from the restaurant terrace are amazing, however if you are a resident you don't get priority on the best tables. We dined there most nights & was always given an inside table & told that the other tables by the glass were already reserved. However we completed our meals without anyone turning up.We booked a Superior room with balcony & although very clean & furnished high end, there were no tea & coffee making facilities or an ironing board in the room.There was a conference one evening which filled the hotel & they were given priority at dinner. There were no tables for residents unless you had previously booked. So in all - great location & view and good hotel but can improve some things slightly to warrant their star rating.

I always stay here when in Athens
The Royal Olympic is a top hotel in Athens, yet at a very reasonable price. The staff are always professional and warm, and there is a nice pool area. Location-wise it is just a few steps from the Plaka, the new Acropolis Museum, and a 20 minute walk from the original Olympic Stadium through the national gardens. However the crowning glory of the property, is the rooftop restaurant with its STUNNING view of the Acropolis. Absolute bliss on a summer evening...!

It's all about location.
We were in Athens during the November austerity riots. All public transportation was on strike for a couple of random days. Greatly appreciated having a hotel within walking distance of everything. As for the hotel, it is just like any major city large hotel; all of their rooms look and are set up alike. It was clean and nondescript. The staff was very nice and helpful with the few minor requests we had. Complimentary breakfast was excellent and negated to need to have lunch and the rooftop location was fantastic. We also ate dinner here the first night. The food was excellent and probably ranks with one of the better meals I have ever had (top 20), but the price was $210 with tip and we did not order drinks. There are much less expensive alternatives immediately nearby, but most other outside restaurants want cash.

Noisy Hotel
5 star lobby3 1/2 star rooms2 star serviceHotel rooms get a lot of traffic nioise even facing the pool because it's near a couple of very busy intersections. Hotel toilets flush even louder then those on the cruise ships. Breakfast on the roof is very nice but the hot food is only warm at best.Front desk staff is rude.rooms are nice but nothiing great, beds were ok.Location is good is if you are there for the acropolis.
