Room very clean. Staff friendly. Convenient free shuttle service round trip to downtown was so easy.

We stayed here recently on our 2 night DC visit. I was feeling very apprehensive before arrival due to the reviews on TA and was hoping I would be pleasantly surprised, unfortunately I wasn't. We got an airport shuttle to the motel and once we left the CBD area, I could tell the location was not going to be suitable as we were unable to walk anywhere. On arrival, all my fears came true, I felt very uneasy about being here and contemplated trying to find other accommodation but as we had pre-booked, decided to stick it out. We arrived before check-in as we have done many times before (knowing full well that our room may not be ready but that they would store luggage), the grumpy girl at reception was quick to snap at me advising that we were early and check-in wasn't until later in the afternoon but she would see if a room was available, within 2 mins, miraculously a room was available (as a side note we spoke to the manager later that day and he told us they were no where near full, so really, no reason for the attitude). Approached our room on the ground floor and there were 3 police cars at the room 2 doors up!! Fantastic, apparently a domestic dispute (it appeared that most of the people at the hotel were actually residents rather than tourists. Went inside our room and amenities were very basis, but seemed clean. We did not sleep very well the first night, insulation in the room is minimal if there at all and you can hear everything, road noise, noise from rooms next door, water flowing from other rooms showers, let alone just not feeling comfortable in our location. Got up early the next morning and packed our backpack for the day as we had 2 planned events in the downtown area and did not want to return. Got back to the hotel late that night and low and behold, more police. Got up early the last morning, checked out and decided we would rather spend 3 hrs at Union Station waiting for our train rather than waiting here. One of the only positive things about this hotel is the free return shuttle into Union Station (as the only other option is taxi, approx $20 depending on time of travel, there is no public transport) however, they only have certain times they do this and none in the mid afternoon and the return needs to be pre-booked 20 mins before which is actually not that bad, you can't expect them to just wait around if no-one utilises. Also, the manager seemed fairly responsive, not like the rude reception girl.

The beds are full size instead of queen that I am use to. I miss having a waffle station at breakfast. The first non smoking room they assigned us smelled of smoke but they. Quickly moved us.I felt my car was safe when I took their free shuttle into d.c. No shuttle service between 11-4 was a problem on our last day.Staff was friendly. However. They were not very knowledgeable about many of my tourist questions.

I made my reservation online and later cancelled it, well within the required time to avoid having my credit card charged (almost 30 days in advance of the deadline). Regardless, my credit card WAS charged for 1 night. I have contacted Days Inn and they said the general manager of the hotel would contact me. It has been a week and still no contact and still no refund. Really, what does it take? They were quick to take my money, but not so quick to refund it.

Booked this place for the inauguration in 2013.First of all the photograph misrepresents the layout.It is not a hotelin the typical definition.They don't show a motel layout.You park right outside the room."Hot sheet " No tell" motel style.No taxi will come there.A taxi is parked in the lot but the guy lives there.He won't pick you up.No room service.No maid.No soap.No shampoo.No change if linen.No clean towels.There are creepy crawley things there .There are girls in spiked heels walking around all night.Being dropped off and picked up all night.Yelling at johns and prospective johns.The "restaurant" is a lobby setup that offers a breakfast of rolls and coffee inhabited by denizens from God knows where who gather for the free meal.They eye families hungrily and have their hands out for alms.If you book through one of the services you are stuck.They claimed I was still there 2 days after I left.If you take children there you should be cited by childrens services.no taxi will come there.IOna
