Good price for seniors,close to transport
Once again we needed to stay in Sydney overnight prior to a cruise,again we were not dissapointed ,while hotel only 3and half star,it was clean close to transport,friendly helpful staff who helped with our suitcases,as we came from melbourne overnight train,we were even let into our room at 8.30am,much appreciated when one is older.Also appreciate the seniors special rate $99.00 with breakfast included.Buses run from out front,Woolworths store across road,also aged pensioners can get an all day travel card for$2.50 WHICH CAN BE USED ON TRAIN BUS AND FERRYall day most helpful.Once again thank you Devere.

Budget but great value
Mature well travelled couple from NSW just staying one night and at the price a bit apprehensive but will return. The rooom was clean, coffee/tea shampooo etc, staff friendly and helpful, close to the city, bus at door and breakfast was fine. Bit of night life noise being next to Kings Cross but we stayed on a week night so no real bother. It would have been more expensive to stay in a back packers double with bathroom. Seniors special rate of $99 with buffer breakfast- a bargain.

Very good value
It's in an interesting neighborhood - Potts Point. I got a reservation at the last minute here for a good price. Certainly I wasn't expecting much while walking through Kings Cross, and even less when I approached the drab exterior. But the staff was nice, and the room was brand new and recently remodeled. I'm taking a star off for no breakfast, but otherwise it was fine. One nice thing is that my room - and many of the rooms - are far off the street so they are quieter. Apparently my room was an upgrade, and so I recommend asking for one of the "new" rooms.

good value and location
I stayed 3 nights in March 2013. I was wary as some reviews were not good but in fact found everything quite satisfactory. It is a bit run down but my room, although small, was clean, view of the bay beyond and had everything I needed. Shuttle bus service to and from the airport was easy to arrange - you could use the train service if you didn't have a large suitcase.I was out all day every day so really only slept there. Kings Cross stations is a 5 minute walk away with a good train service so I was in Sydney centre within 10-15 minutes. For this trip I was on my own and walked back to the hotel late at night with no fears at all for my safety; it's not the best area but it is safe. I found the hotel staff helpful and friendly. Wifi would be an improvement as this was expensive so I just went down the road to the local MacDonalds and used their free wifi over my morning coffee and muffin.I felt I had value for the relatively small price I had paid for a reasonably central hotel. I would go back again.

Ok place to stay, poor rooms but some helpful members of staff
Over 3 weeks travelling in Australia, staying in many apartments, hotels and B&Bs in QLD and NSW this was the most disappointing place we stayed. The twin room was dingy, basically equipped and with a view of the mucky wall of the neighbouring building. Access to Internet/wifi was not free and quite pricey. Overall the place was not good value for money, even for Sydney. The one redeeming feature was that one blond haired lady on reception was very helpful when we needed some food heating up in a microwave. There are better and more value for money places to stay in this area.
