Clean and very comfortable room
We arrived at about 11pm, yet check-in was effortless. The room we were given had a queen, as well as a large single. It was spotless, as was the bathroom. Towels were large and fluffy. The bed linen was fresh and excellent quality. All in all a very impressive room. We also had parking beneath the building, a big plus for us as we had a rental. Breakfast was included in our package and was up to the standards of a Best Western establishment.

Worth the extra.
After a long drive from Sydney all I wanted to do was check in and get settled. We had arrived early (about 2 p.m.) and the room wasn't ready yet. The young lady at the counter was most apologetic and assured us that the room would be ready by three. So my son and I decided to take a stroll down nearby Lygon Street. This motel is situated on the corner of Drummond and Grattan Streets. Drummond Street runs parallel with Lygon Street one block to the east. Grattan Street runs from the Exhibition Gardens down to Elizabeth Street. Three blocks down this street from the motel is Swanston Street and the trams or a short walk across the Gardens gets you to the Spring Street stop of the City Circle tram. Lygon Street itself is the heart of Melbourne's Italian community and, quite frankly, it leaves Sydney's Norton Street for dead. The atmosphere is more Italian and the restaurants are much better and far less pretentious. The whole street is just a gem so an hour spent looking in the shops went very quickly. Our room was very well appointed and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very modern and clean. I could not fault it. My son, who is disabled, was very pleased. The staff was very affable, welcoming and helpful. I am told that the restaurant is very good but with all the wonderful eateries in Lygon Street so close we didn't try it. The location of the motel is a huge plus and whenever we go to Melbourne this is where we stay because I can leave the car at the motel and reach everything either on foot or by tram. The Queen Victoria markets are about a twenty minute stroll away and the CBD is easily accessible on foot. What's more the tariffs are extremely reasonable. The counter staff are there 24 hours a day so checking out was not a problem. As I had a long return drive to Sydney we checked out and paid the account at 5 a.m. Now, THAT'S service.

Good location decent price
Very good location. Comfortable renovated rooms. Clean.Full price on the high side. Very convenient for the University. Be sure to enquire about discounts if on uni business.Views on teh ground floor are non-existent, but this is a comfortable business hotel. the conference room was a bit cramped, but otherwise OK. Nice little swimming pool with garden area.The hotel is a slightly awkward "shape", with the layout being a bit confusing at first.

Always good
Stayed here for two nights over the weekend and again very nice. Just off the edge of the city but not too far from anything, in fact a lovely walk around the nearby gardens is a good way to start the day. receptionist upon check in was great. I had experienced some difficulty in on line booking but she amended our rate and included breakfast. She was extremely pleasant and very customer focused. Room was lovely and quiet with a queen and a single bed. Bathroom was small but adequate. My only concern is the height of the shower head. I am 167cm but had to bend to get my head under. My teenage son is taller so had a bit of a battle. Breakfast was extremely nice. In all the times I have stayed there have never eaten breakfast there but great options with lovely fresh fruit etc. Waitresses were extremely nice as well.Highly recommend

Great Hotel Close to Lygon Street & CBD
I have stayed here twice before and no wonder I keep coming back. The rooms are always lovely and clean and the reception staff are very welcoming and friendly.The indoor pool area has very nice surroundings although it could have been a bit warmer.We ate breakfast in their restaurant and it was absolutely beautiful. Didn't need to stroll down to Lygon Street for breakfast where you had nice food at your doorstep.This hotel is so handy to Lygon Street being only one block away plus only a short bus or tram ride into the CBD area.Overall this hotel is very reasonable in tariffs and the rooms and neat and tidy. I will definitely be staying there again when I visit Melbourne.Thank you to all staff.RegardsTodd and Bronwyn
