Great location, pity about the beds
Salamanca Terraces are in a great location at the top of Salamanca with all the attractions of Salamanca in easy walking distance. The apartments are roomy but unfortunately like most Tasmanian accommodation they are a bit tied. The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. On the first night I ended up on the lounge to try to sleep, then in the morning I read we're you could request a mattress topper if you didn't like hard beds. This was a slight improvement and I do mean slight. There was also a smell coming from the floor drain hole in the bathroom which I covered up with a towel each night. Evidently the cleaners didn't notice it as the towel was always moved.

A bad decision
Salamanca Terraces is a good example of a property developed without the customer in mind. Small, tired and fundamentally an insult to anything more than a backpacker, this is not a place I would ever stay at again. On a late summer day, the fan in the bedroom was a good indication that this smelly room had no air conditioning, and the bar heater that sticks out in the entrance way would be a menace to operate. This is barely a place for budget minded tourists and by no means a place for business travellers

Great Apartment
Great apartment - very spacious with plenty of space to spread out - huge bathroom. Well stocked fridge. The kitchen was very clean and had everything available to prepare a meal. This site is run by Lenna, so we ate at Alexanders restaurant to complete the experience - the meals were excellent quality.

Excellent location in Hobart.
We have recently stayed at Salamanca Terraces for the second time. The first time was in December 2011 in a penthouse apartment (which had air conditioning), this time we were in a one bedroom apartment (not penthouse). The staff are very accommodating, the apartments are generally very well appointed, very clean, and in an excellent location but they would not be our choice in summer or during hot weather. No air conditioning, but you are provided with two pedestal fans. Great choice of centrally located, clean, comfortable accommodation but in cooler weather (they do have heating), we won't stay in summer again. If you are a light sleeper, the garbage trucks will wake you most mornings at 5.15am (or 7.15am on Sundays). But we were there for the Wooden Boat Festival, so perhaps in quieter times they are not as frequent.

The best apartments in the best location!
Clean and comfortable accommodation with all the modern amenities provided. For such magnificent location they provided us with great value. The apartment was very roomy and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. We contacted the hotel afterwards as we had left some jewelry. They immediately took action to find it and sent it to us. Great service. Will definitely stay there again.
