Excellent location
Recently stayed at the Hilton when attending a conference in Adelaide. Check in was fast and the room was good, the only thing that I did not like was that they do not put a top sheet on the bed. Breakfast has a wide variety to suit everyone and the staff there are friendly and helpful. The free tram is a great way to travel in the city.

Very comfortable city hotel
This is a lovely hotel in a very nice area of Adelaide's CBD. We found the staff very professional and helpful, the hotel was quiet and our room was very well presented. The city offers many attractions within walking distance of the hotel, it is very easy to navigate around the streets and just around the corner is a street full of cafes and restaurants including a Chinatown.

A BIG let DOWN
Stayed here for a week on Business before moving onto Melbourne where i thankfully stayed at the Grand Hyatt. As a smoker, i can appreciate that there may be only a few rooms in any hotel these days that allows you to smoke, but the rooms on the 3rd floor were a shambles. The moment you step off the elevator, the corridor has very low lighting, is in need for a paint job and way too many spill stains on a very old, worn carpet.Upon entering the room, the lighting again was very dim and the whole room is in need for a makeover. Its like stepping back in time to the 80's. Furniture does not match. There is no complimentry water bottles. No comp biscuits to have tea/coffee. The TV is in need of an aerial, you cannot seem to get a clear HD channel at all.The bathroom? you just cannot get the right temperature either in the wash basin or in the shower, either very luke warm or scolding. No complimentry Internet either, which, by the way is way too expensive!I feel very let down by the Hilton Brand, the only thing going for this is the location which is perfect for business purposes on Flinders Street.I have read reviews that the upper floors of the hotel have been refurbished and have had raving reviews, but its seems from the responses from the management that they have been renovating this hotel for a couple of years now, seriously..how long does it take?I find myself probably returning to this hotel purely on the convenience of being near the offices of where i need to be, but for the amount that they charge for such a lousy room on a floor which needs a refurb, the Hilton should be ashamed of themselves.In-room dining didnt have much to offer and they boast that the breakfast has over 100 items? really? were they counting each slice of bread as an individual item?I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Muscat, Kuala Lumpur and now Melbourne, now thats what you call 5 Star and an amazing breakfast along with Comp Water and Internet and branded soap/shower gel/shampoo/conditioner/loofer/body cream/extensive menu.Come on Hilton, get this sorted! or drop your prices!!!!

Nice but not quite the Diamond feeling...
As a HH Diamond member, I did not quite feel the value of being a Diamond at the Hilton Adelaide. Yes, was upgraded to exec room at 17th floor (18th floor was the highest) upon check-in, but the process lacked some warmth "welcome back" feeling. Exec room on 17th floor was nice: single king sized bed, soft, comfy and pillows irresistible. Toilet was a good size, with separate shower and bath. Loved the large Samsung TV with swivel back. Room also had a good sized work desk. However, tea/coffee making facility was mediocre. Selection of (instant) tea/coffee was that of a 3.5-4 star hotel with no biscuits provided - unlike the Novotel/Grand Mercure chains. Hilton Adelaide has a great 24-hr fitness centre - equipped with a gym (some 4 treadmills, weights station, aptly sized to fit 10-15 people in the gym), a sauna (seats 5-6 people comfortably), a plunge pool and a spa (seats 4-6 people comfortably). The sauna is very enjoyable, i.e. set to a high temperature so a 15-min sitting is sufficient. However the spa is set to 35degC as stated so not as enjoyable if you are a spa-fan. It also has an outdoor pool (closes at 10 pm) quite nice for summer but perhaps too chilly for winter.Buffet breakfast in the brassiere was top-notch when compared with other local hotels, but a notch below the likes of Hilton Cairns and 3 notches below the likes of Hilton Tokyo. Nevertheless, freshly made juice - combination of your choice from good fruit and veg selection, glazed Danishes and flaky croissant with smoked salmon and crispy hashbrowns do the trick. You can also order freshly made waffles, pancakes or eggs cooked your way. Breakfast at Hilton is almost faultless when compared with local hotels. Some quibbles: Hilton Adelaide advertises in its compendium that the Exec lounge is open until 11 pm on weekdays. A letter signed by Lisa (Exec GM) also stated that the Exec lounge is open until 11 pm on weekdays. However when I arrive at the lounge at 10 pm on a Monday night looking for a glass of wine before bedtime, I was informed that the lounge was closed at 9 pm - the new closing time. Speaking with Ravi the Guest Services Manager, he indicated that the letter may have been a wrongly printed one and the compendium was something he would look into - and get back to me - which he did not (get back to me). Mis-prints and mis-information should not happen to a 5-star Hilton property. Also when purposefully checked with Hotel Guest Services over the phone regarding printed closing time for Exec lounge, they did not appear to know and sounded rude over the phone. Canapes in the Exec lounge was acceptable and quickly topped up when food levels were low; loved most was the help-yourself to the drink fridge and min-bar, and chirpy staff member who was very helpful.Valet parking was expensive at $36 (or thereabouts), but handy. You'd need to inform concierge at least 15-20 mins before you require your vehicle which will be parked right at the hotel front. I requested the night before, for a specific time the next morning, and without fail, vehicle was ready when I arrive. If you intend to park overnight without multiple entries and exits, you may be better off using the U Park on Grote - and Hilton will provide you with a discount voucher reducing the car park cost to $18 per 24-hour period. Overall I would rate a 3.5 out of 5 stars because of mis-information and claimed mis-printing of an HH member's letter, some less polite staff at reception (but brekky staff were fantastic) and a not-so-enjoyable spa due to low temperature setting (for a spa-fan). Definitely recommended for business - where you mean business, but perhaps not the ideal hotel for a leisure stay.

One of Adelaide's best hotel
A great hotel in Adelaide city. Rooms have decent space though the bathroom is a little small. Beds are comfortable and room is nicely decorated. It is located across Victoria Square. There is a tram station that takes you to Rundle Mall or the casino. You can opt to walk too as Adelaide city is compact. There is a Chinatown too located behind the hotel, it has a big international food court catering to many different taste buds at a budget! All in all, it is a nice Hilton chain hotels.
