Ordinary stay for the money paid
We stayed here as part of a FNQ trip and attended a conference in Cairns. The hotel was chosen for it's proximity to the convention centre. On check in we requested a quiet room away from the lifts and so were given a room just around the corner from the lift and directly opposite the guest laundry. All we could hear was people chatting as they were waiting for the lift and the laundry door opening and closing at all hours of the night. As we were only staying for 2 nights it was not worth the effort to say anything as the hotel seemed to be booked out. We could hear the television and people talking in the next room. The room was quite large and comfortable and the bathroom had a good bath and shower. The view from the very small balcony was just over the roof tops so we had a view of roofs and air-conditioning. Try and get a room higher up. The service of the bar staff was great and very welcoming. There is only valet parking available at a cost but we did get a bottle of water in the car when we checked out. There only seemed to be a seafood buffet available for dinner on the night we were there. go next door for breakfast for good food and better price.

Unimpressed
This hotel was a disappointment. Checkin, despite arriving at 3 pm was delayed- free drinks but no room for another half hour. Booked deluxe room with harbour view. Large enough but drab furnishings and looked tired. The room was not worth, in my opinion, the quoted cost of $279 AUS. The internet connection was appalling. Very hard to get into, kept dropping out. I am looking forward to checking out today....

Breakfast fantastic at the Pullman
My partner and I stayed at the Pullman International in May for 3 nights for the first part of our holiday to FNQ. Probably wish it was for the final leg of our holiday as no other place we stayed matched the breakfasts here. The rooms are large with enough room to spread out. We had a mountain view room but our room was fantastic as it looked over the mountain and the hotel's pool. We had the buffet breakfast and it was fantastic as it had a great variety and was fresh and hot. The Pullman Reef Casino is directly across the road and we enjoyed the $4.50 White label Scotch on a number of occasions. The Hotel is in a great central location and we walked to dinner in the evenings to the esplanade but it is really central to everything. We found it to be quiet and enjoyed our sleeps here.

Super!
Stayed at the Sebel either side of a roadtrip up and down the Cape. So relaxing! We had a nice quiet room, spacious with lots of natural light. The bed was very comfortable (I was so tired by the time we were on our way home, we really needed it!). The pool deck is absolutely rad. A long cocktail menu and the food from hotel restaurant was delicious! The concierge was lovely and helpful.My only complaint is that when I booked, I am sure I selected the $0 continental breakfast add-on. When I asked the check-in staff about it, I was told that I had in fact ordered the 'children's breakfast', apparently. I was confused, and said that it didn't make sense as I do not have any children and I didn't even remember it being an option. I asked to swap to the adults breakfast, as it would not make any difference to the price. The check-in lady flatly refused, and told me to pay more attention when making bookings. I was not particularly impressed with that. Another lady told me that it happens a lot. Well anyway, if it's a common issue then someone should look into it so it doesn't happen to anybody else.Otherwise, I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay =)

Love love love
My husband and I stayed here while visiting Cairns on our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful and met all of our needs. Great location, mini fridge, view. Free wi-fi would make this place even better but it is unusual to include that.
