Love the BED!
Since first staying at a Chase Suite Hotel in Kansas City I know look to see if there is one where I am going. The only hotel I have found that has THE BEST BEDS EVER!!!!!!! I suffer with back problems and have to tell you their mattresses are the most comfortable nights sleep I have ever had. I do however, have one complaint. When we arrived to our room there wasn't any heat. The furnace wasn't on nor would it come on. I had to call the front desk, pack back up, go get a key to a different suit. The staff was polite about it, but don't you think things should be checked out to make sure they are working before you put someone in a room? I mean that only makes sense to me, then your not running the risk of inconveniencing your guests.

Pleasant Stay
We were traveling to the Des Moines area for a family event. We arrived very late on a Friday night, and were told that we had been upgraded to a "penthouse" suite.The layout of the hotel is cute - several separate buildings, each with a few rooms. It made it feel more like an apartment complex or something. It is important to note that there are no elevators, so if you get an upstairs room, be prepared to climb a flight of stairs. Not a problem for us, so all good.We got to our room, and were very impressed on first impression. It was a 2-story "room". Downstairs was a small living room with a pull-out sofa bed, a TV, fireplace, and coffee table; a full kitchen, with full-size fridge, dishwasher, stove, microwave, coffee maker, etc... stocked with basic dishes and pots and pans; a bedroom with a king-sized bed, desk, closet, nightstands, small dresser, and bathroom. The bedroom was separated from the living room by a fold-out divider. Upstairs was a "loft" area with a queen-sized bed, TV, small dressser, nightstands, closet, and a second full bathroom. We were traveling with our daughter, who was ECSTATIC to have her very own big bed and bathroom and TV (and her own Bible in her own nightstand...)The decor and fixtures were a bit dated, but everything was clean and comfortable - ESPECIALLY the supersoft beds.There was a fairly standard free breakfast in the main building with cereal, yogurt, pastries, make-your-own waffles, and a hot egg dish. We would have loved an indoor pool to play in, but there is only an outdoor pool (and this was April, so no-go). I did not notice any noise problems some other reviews mentioned, but I do tend to be a heavy sleeper. Location is convenient - right off the highway and near a lot of restaurants and such.Overall, it isn't particularly posh, but it is a nice, comfortable stay - with lots of room to spread out, and friendly staff -- all for a great price.I'd stay again.

Dingy and dated
Booked this hotel on Hotwire and it was listed as a 3 star property. Unfortunately, it is a 2 star at best. The hotel is dated and even though the bedding is updated, the bathrooms were in much need of repair. It seemed as if they just slapped some paint on rotting wood and hoped it would help. I didn't feel especially safe with the layout of this property and the walls are PAPER thin. I heard my upstairs neighbors walking and talking a lot.

Great for the money
My wife and I stayed at the Chase Suites for one night. It is very conveniently located next to shopping and restaurants. Jordan Creek mall is about 5-10 minutes away depending on traffic. We were upgraded for free to a "penthouse" suite. Overall, the room was a little dated looking but in clean and well maintained condition. The room was huge with two bathrooms. One open bedroom space was upstairs in the loft. The main floor had a large living room area with fireplace. The main bedroom was separated by an accordian separator. The unit had a full kitchen. Bed was great...pillow top soft but provide reasonable back support. Overall, this place was very nice...expecially for the money (under $70 for the night)! This would be a great place for a family to stretch out for a few days when visiting Des Moines.

Overall, it was "okay", but I would not stay there again.
Price wise, this hotel seemed to be the right choice, as we were staying 5 nights to visit family in the area. We booked in advance and also took advantage of the 'no cancellation rate' and saved some money. (which means, we were charged on the credit card at the time of booking, and could not get our money back) When we arrived (after booking at least a week in advance), we were told they 'overbooked' and our room wasn't available. We booked a King suite, they gave us a Queen suite for the first night, with a promise to give us a credit for the difference in rates. They also promised to make the move to a King room the next day easy for us, by only having to move to the room directly below us. Well, THAT didn't happen. They moved us to the other side of the building and then the room wasn't ready when we needed it. So, needless to say, it wasn't until after 4:00 p.m. before we were able to move.Aside from all this trouble which I consider a PITA, it was the fact that the hotel rooms had NO dressers to store clothes in and 3 closets, but not more than 4-6 hangers TOTAL to hang your clothes with! Now, if you plan to stay 5 days.... you do NOT want to live out of your suitcase, or at least I don't. The second room we stayed in, one of the closets smelled like pet urine and also one of the spare blankets had that odor.Now, out of fairness, we did get the promised refund for the King to Queen rate. We also received a 'courtesy credit' for having to move to the other side of the building, but I had to ask for it. The breakfast on site was adequate, in fact, they have the best tasting waffles, and I am not a waffle person by no means.Overall, it was okay. However, because our stay was longer, we did not appreciate living out of our suitcases, nor having the means to hang our clothes up.
