Lovely place to stay in Beverly Hills with extremely helpful staff. The room however was very small and had an odd sliding door type arrangement into the bathroom. We were also placed in the room right next to the lift which we could hear till quite late at night and was quite annoying

The location is good, the rooms are reasonably priced and sized, and the staff were very friendly.A word of warning: The hotel's decor is mostly black/dark, and if your vision's impaired you may have a hard time navigating the space. Still, it was a lovely stay.

Overall not bad. First impression is that the hotel's heavy carpets, tents and walls need a big refreshing...there was a funky / old / dusty smell in the lobby and in the room. Other than that, room & bathroom were OK, staff is nice and the breakfast is delicious. Just granola, lots of fresh berries, greek yogurt, hot good coffee and bread. Simple but very good.

I booked this hotel on the recommendation of Dr. Boxer Wachler's office. As his patient, you receive a corporate rate on the room, and I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was for being in Beverly Hills! Since I booked the appointment fairly quickly, I had to travel alone. I was anxious about how I was going to get around for 5 days, especially since my vision was impaired. The staff at the hotel was very accommodating, providing directions, restaurant suggestions, luggage storage and they helped me twice with prompt taxi service. The walk to the Dr's office was so easy and safe (about 10 minutes) and you are literally blocks away from Rodeo Drive. Everything you need (including a Rite Aid for prescriptions) is within walking distance. I ordered room service twice (they get it from the neighboring hotel Mosaic) and the food was delicious, especially the Cobb Salad. The room was decent size (I had the king size bed option) and the bed was very comfortable to rest after surgery. The bathroom was extremely small, but they made up for it with luxurious bath products that I loved! Housekeeping barely made a peep and never once knocked on my door, but whenever I came back, the room was clean! I stayed over a weekend and it was very quiet and relaxing. The only minor, minor complaint was that the room and hallway had a strong odor the first day (musty is the best way I can describe it) but that seemed to go away. It is also a close taxi ride away from LAX, Santa Monica Pier and Hollywood. I'll definitely be back, as I've already booked another room for August!

We stayed at the Maison 140 for four nights in August last year, at the end of our three-week four-state road trip. Initially we were hesitant about where to stay in LA - do we pay more to stay in Santa Monica, try somewhere edgy in WeHo, or be boring and stay in a safe corporate place? The Maison 140 was recommended by a friend and it was a great choice.The rooms are fairly compact (hence the 'Parisian' reference) but we had a pretty busy time exploring LA so were not sitting in there all that much. The location is great for exploring the Beverley Hills area and we had a couple of evening meals along S Beverley Drive and a couple of breakfasts along S Santa Monica, all an easy and safe walk away. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the staff were helpful. We didn't try their breakfasts as we wanted to get out and explore the area. The only downsides I recall were that the in-room a/c was a bit noisy, so we left it off at night, and there was limited space for suitcases.Car parking was next door and seemed safe (although was not cheap). The hotel itself was relatively well-priced (helped by the 4 for 3 nights deal) compared to others that were available on those days. We'd definitely return if we needed to be in that area again.
