Do yourself a favour and avoid this dire establishment. The rooms are claustraphobic and airless - and very noisy from non-stop traffic if you open the windows. The bar is soulless and very over-priced. And the internet is probably the slowest and most incompetent in Europe. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

The full buffet breakfast is great as is the location. The two things that let this hotel down is the high bath/shower making getting in and out of the shower very difficult. The other fault are the pillows, they are so bad it is like. Not having pillows on the bed.Take no note of my rating of the spa or swimming pool as did not use.

First impressions mean a lot and the reception staff were all very welcoming which started my stay well. Like another reviewer I booked a double bed but having stayed at other NH properties it came as no surprise that I received two single beds put together. Unfortunately the staff seem unable to understand the subtleties of single vs double.The immediate area is quiet, but the convenience of being able to walk to Checkpoint Charlie and Potsdamer Platz far outweighed this. The persons at the information booth were knowledgeable and helped us with booking tours and other entertainment.The breakfast was adequate but did not vary in the four days that I was there.Overall, it's not a four-star hotel, but it is clean with all the necessary amenities.PS: don't expect any of the TV channels except BBC to be in English.

The location is good concerning public transport, but there are almost no restaurants close by if you want to have dinner or a drink in the evening (somewhere else than the hotel's restaurant) There are many coffee houses tough, but they close at six o'clock. Checkpoint Charlie is only few hundred meters away.Rooms are ok, but very basic - nothing special. The bed was also ok. Breakfast ok.

My boyfriend and I visited Berlin for the April bank holiday. We found the hotel through Expedia and booked 1 double bedroom with one double bed. Expedia gave the choice of double bedrooms with a double bed and twin rooms with separate beds. We arrived at the hotel on Friday. The hotel is very easy to find if you get off at Stadtmitte. The reception is very spacious and the staff was very lovely at first. We went to our room and found it to a high standard, even if a bit more for business like trips than a romantic trip, but that it just had 2 single beds put together. We went back to reception to ask for a double bedroom with one double bed and we were told that our reservation said that we got a standard room and that therefore that meant that the room would have two single beds. We complained and insisted that in actual fact the reservation clearly stated that we had ordered a double bedroom with one double bed and that had we known that we were getting two single beds we would have chosen another hotel. The lady became quite rude saying that they could not do anything about it and that double bedrooms with double beds had ran out. So we said that we booked the hotel back in November and that Expedia clearly let us book for a double bedroom with a double bed and that they were clearly misrepresenting what they had on offer. So then the lady changed her tune and said that a couple of years ago the hotel got rid of all double beds (!) and that there are no longer rooms with double beds. We found that quite incredible so asked to check if in the whole hotel there were no double beds. So then she said that if we wanted one, we would have to upgrade at extra cost to a Junior Suite room. Again, we complained saying that the service was shocking and that the upgrade wasn't really an upgrade as it meant honouring their part of the contract and giving us what we had paid for. After insisting, she gave us the upgrade and we got the Junior Suite room at no extra cost with the promise that there would be a double bed. We were happy to finally get to our new room, and, although it was much bigger than before, with a separate living room, two tvs, a long terrace, sofas and a sofa bed, the room had two beds put together again!!! We found it amusing as we were wondering if their interpretation of double bed was in the sofa bed? we didn't have the energy to go down and complain again and given the room was huge with all this extra sofas and space, we decided to stay. Funny though, that despite the room having two sets of towels, it only had one bathrobe and one set of slippers. So again, we felt it was like a battle and that we had to sort this out too. It's really unclear how the phone works and still I have no idea what is the number for reception, but after a few tries we got through to the right person to ask for the extra items. The lady came up immediately and was very lovely. Throughout it was nice, but the room was so cold and the thermostat didn't change anything so we were freezing as there were no extra sets of blankets. Eventually we had to call again to ask for extra duvets. Apart from all this sorting out, the hotel was good and we also used the spa. The spa is open from 4pm to 11 pm. It's a bit of a weird timing, but we used it twice nevertheless and no one asks anything, you just come in and out, you don't need to check in, so it's great, but beware that some people are completely naked. There is also a tiny gym. We didn't go for the breakfast as it was something like 25 Euro each, and there are coffee places around. The location is ideal for going to Potsdammer Platz and to the galleries around there, like the Neue Nationalgalerie (amazing), etc. Also, it is a great location for walking to Branderburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie etc. Also, it is close to all the major shops. However, it was all closed as it was Easter. At night however there is absolutely nothing there so you need to get the metro and explore. Also, there are
