The Epic Hotel in downtown Miami is a hugly pleasant surprise. Everything is first class -- rooms, food, service, attitudes, views, cleanliness, sports facilities, bars. And, the prices are quite reasonable. WIFI is first class and free (unlike the vast majority of hotels) and the in-room TV system is not one of those diabolical systems which does everything possible to get you to purchase a movie and makes regular TV a huge hassle. Than you Kimpton. I had not expected such class and value in downtown Miami. If there is a negative it is the fact that there is not all that much to do in downtown Miami, but most of what you might want is not far away by taxi or the Miami overhead tram system.

I stayed in a suite at the epic for three weeks. The suite was fantastic with a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The walk to anything in downtown Miami was 5 to 10 minutes. I love the location. The facilities at the hotel are outstanding including the dining and the exercise room/spa. I found the whole tell staff to be amazingly responsive. My only complaint was that my key became demagnetized on multiple occasions and had to be reissued at least six times. However, that is a minor point given the beauty of the hotel, the location, the service, and the comfort of the room. I love the large bathroom. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Anything I needed was provided within minutes. I look forward to staying at this hotel again.

I stayed at the EPIC last week for a graduation celebration/mini-vacation with my boss and her family. I don't even know where to begin with describing how epic our time was there!Let's start with check-in at the hotel Thursday morning. I arrived with a member of the family at 11:30 AM, after we flew in from the Midwest. We went to the reception area, and both women(I wish I had gotten their names!) working there knew we were coming, knew our names, knew why we were there for the weekend, and the names of the other members of our party that had checked in the previous day. With all the guests in the hotel, how is that even possible? Yet there it was...the most personalized, pleasant check in experience I have had. Not to mention that my room was ready, even though check in time is 3 PM. By 11:45 AM, I was poolside holding a fruited ice water in one hand, and a beer in the other, compliments of Oscar, the awesome pool manager(thanks for the birthday boy's beers!). Now that is service! Our rooms were on the Club Level floor, which meant we had constant access to the club lounge, and all the amenities it offered throughout our stay. This access is absolutely worth every additional dollar on the room rate, because of the amount of money you will save on breakfast, lunch, water, soft drinks, and alcohol. And they had lovely hors d'oeuvres each night at 6.My room had a king-sized bed, and a perfect view of the Miami Tower. Watching the Tower change colors on Thursday night while sitting on my balcony was really cool. My room was very clean, with great decor. Awesome bathroom/shower, comfy bed, nice TV, plenty of closet/dresser space, and all sorts of little extra amenities in the room, in case you forgot to pack something. (The one and only semi-negative comment I have in this whole review is that the pillows were too hard, but apparently you can request softer ones, which I found out the last day. My bad for not asking the first night!) My boss had a suite, and it was incredible. Our party would gather there each night, and the balcony had incredible views of the river and neighboring high rises. I did not notice any excessive noise from adjoining rooms/hallways, the grounds and interior of the hotel were beautiful and clean, and the pool area was amazing. Cabs were readily available outside the main entrance, and the hotel is conveniently located downtown.I need to mention a few of the staff that really went above and beyond in showing all of us hospitality and extremely personalized service: Oscar the concierge at the lounge...you were wonderful! The same goes for Raquel, Mary, and Rachel at the lounge. All of you were so great to talk to, and so helpful. The food and drinks and attention we received was unparalleled in terms of customer satisfaction. You made us feel special, and truly seemed to want to share our happiness with why we were there for the graduation. Additionally, our housekeeping service did a great job with room cleanings/turn down service, thank you!Kimpton is to be commended for employing such extraordinary staff, and whatever the staff salaries are, it isn't enough! I doubt I will ever get hospitality like I did at the EPIC at another hotel.As is evident from my review, I would not hesitate to stay at the EPIC again(and look forward to doing so again some day), and will gladly recommend it to anyone traveling to Miami. Once again, a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone there for making our special occasion perfect!

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend for a night away for his birthday and with my search of reviews Epic was right up there of exactly what I was looking for. It exceeded my expectations!! We showed up a bit early, noon, only to prepare for heading to pool until check in. But with a great surprise our room was ready. Thank you Seth!! . When we walked in the room we walked straight out to the balcony and what a view, it was amazing!! We hit the pool which was amazing too!! Great set up! When we returned to room the staff had waiting a plate with huge cookie that said Happy Birthday. It was the perfect touch to make my boyfriends birthday extra special. I can't wait to have another get away to the Epic Hotel, such a treat
