Kind staff returned lost diamond
About two hours after checking out of the Four Points Soho, I discovered the centre diamond of my engagement ring was gone, claws and all. I was devastated and immediately began retracing my steps. I called the hotel to see if anyone had found it. Not only did a real human being answer the phone right away (a miracle!) but that person shared my concern and went off to see if anything had been found. It hadn't but she took my name and number and promised to call if they found anything. Ten minutes later, Patricia called back. Kenroy in housekeeping had found my diamond on the bathroom floor! We immediately returned to the hotel. Patricia and Marissa were on the front desk and were very happy to have helped find my diamond. I asked to speak to Kenroy to thank him in person. He came down and I thanked him profusely. But when I tried to give him some money as a reward, he refused, several times. He said he was just glad to have helped. I was completely impressed with these employees -- their kindness, their concern, their help and their honesty. And besides all that, the hotel was a great place to stay!

Acceptable, but nothing special.
Not in the heart of SoHo, but located a few blocks away from great restaurants, shopping and the train, so nicely convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the property is kept quite clean. The rooms and gym are definitely on the small side, but it's New York, so that is to be expected. Clean linens, modern bathroom, free WiFi, flatscreen TV... all of the things that you expect from a Starwood property.The one thing I found laughable was the bar. 8seats inside a 12ft "aquarium". My comment to my self is if you need to drink there, you should stop drinking.All in all, it's a fine chain hotel if you're looking to keep the price manageable in a town of outrageous prices. It's not a hip & swanky boutique... but you knew that when you clieked on Four Points.

Only minor complaints
Basically all went well. The rooms are small but well designed. I have a few minor complaints. The bathroom door is mostly plastic that doesn't block the light so if someone goes to bathroom in middle of night and turns on the light, the light shining through will probably wake the other person. The A/C fan could have been quieter. And though it's a small hotel, it's tall, so you may have to wait a bit for elevators. Arrived on a Sat afternoon and found street parking so that was a big plus. I've lived in NY all my life, even went to NYU in Village and had never heard of Charlton Street. Turns out Prince Street ends at 6th Ave and becomes Charlton. There's no real reason to go to Charlton as there's not much around but a short walk takes you to either West Village or hopping Soho so location is really very good.

Great value and service
I can't say much more than the previous reviewers. Keep in mind that four points is the lower end of the Starwood chain. That being said, the service was excellent. The location is good-close to soho shopping, Little Italy and Chinatown. The 1 train giving easy access to the upper west side and midtown is just a block away. The rooms are small as us the property in general, but this is Manhattan folks.
