Ultra-convenient for convention-goers
Stayed at the Renaissance for a professional meeting at the Washington Convention Center. It was wonderful to have such close access to the meeting site. Per recommendations from other Trip Advisor reviewers, I asked for an outward-facing room. Stayed on the 10th floor which was very quiet despite street and construction noise below. I loved it that the management placed signs in the hallways in the evening asking people to keep their voices down. I have never seen that at other hotels. What a great idea! It costs the hotel very little to do this, but if it helps weary travelers get some sleep, it is well worth it. (are you listening other business hotels?).Room was clean. Desk service was good. Cleaning ladies were friendly.Complaints: The hotel lobby is very strange. Very small, dark and not welcoming at all. I kept looking around to find the "real" lobby. Never found it. The entrance off of 9th street is mainly geared toward cars. The K street entrance is tiny and has extremely steep stairs. I kept looking around for an entrance that my friend who uses a wheelchair could use without having to inhale the fumes of idling cars, and I never found it. Fortunately, she had signed up for a different hotel which had far better handicapped access.

Great Customer Service and Location!
I am currently staying at the Renassiance and my experience has been wonderful! From the moment I checked in the hotel Brittany and Anderson have gone out of their way to ensure that I got settled in and off to my meeting at American University. The Metro is just a short walk and there are lots of great restaurants around the hotel. The rooms are very clean and up to date as well. I would definitely stay here again due to the great location, customer service and rooms.Signed,Marriott Rewards Member

Great Staff
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. I especially liked the convenient parking garage and relaxing lobby. The best part of the hotel, however, is the competent and knowledgeable staff, who rival the best of them. My only gripe is the price tag-way to much for an inconveniently-located hotel (for the National Mall, not the convention center) in off-peak time. Although the train is a fast mode of transport to the National Mall, it is the most confusing, expensive, and hopeless subway I have ever been on and needs a desperate overhaul.

a surprisingly friendly big hotel
Our family (parents, and young adult children with their significant others) stayed at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel on Ninth Street in Washington for a graduation celebration at Georgetown Law School in late May. We had a wonderful time--the rooms were very comfortable and clean and well-priced; the staff was extremely helpful and friendly; the gym was huge and spa-like; the food and service were fine; and the lobby had many individual seating areas where small groups could congregate. The location was superb--near everything and easily accessible. Even though it is essentially a hotel for business travel, we found it comfortable and even friendly. We arranged a large family brunch on Sunday at the hotel and were very happy with the food, table and service.

It was big!
I stayed at this hotel due to a conference I was attending and it is down the street from the conference center. By nature, I generally do not stay at large hotels. This one was pretty decent! The attendants were numerous and vigilant. They were nice and most helpful. The foyer is nicely appointed and busy. There is a restaurant but I did not eat there. There is also a bar that I did not frequent but it appeared open and airy. I liked it. The rooms were roomy and fair. I was given a room on the upper floors called the 'whisper' floor because of it being quiet. A day or so later I heard a small child talking and playing. I did not care - so no complaint. The view was none existence as my window looked out onto a large air shaft that showed other windows to other rooms. But I was not there to spend time in the room. I felt the location was great for food. Chinatown was close by as were some museums. I understand that the gym was outstanding. Overall, it was cool. Would I stay there again. Probably...but its just so biggggg (smile).
