Fine Hotel
My husband and I just returned from our second stay at the Regency Hotel. We enjoyed our hot weekend by the waterfront. The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to just park the car and be able to walk to all the great restaurants and shopping that the city offers. The staff is is friendly and pleasant. The only quirk we had this time around was that our room (#311) had such a horrible odor. When we first walked it we chaulked it up to cleaning solutions but the odor lingered for the entire weekend. When I mentioned it to the desk staff I was told that they were totally booked and had no other room to move us into. My son and daughter-in-law joined us Saturday and their room was fine.The hotel has a nice lounge that serves awesome martinis and is a great way to end the day if you enjoy a well made cocktail. The bar staff is friendly and make for an enjoyable time. I recommend this hotel highly and will return again for a great weekend escape.

Great Place
The Portland Regency is a fabulous hotel. Location is IDEAL. Everything is within walking distance. Portland,Maine is the best walking city I've ever seen. Our room at the hotel was large and had everything one could want. People were friendly and very helpful. Gave us tips on places to eat and things to do. The spa is great. Big Jacuzzi, great steam room and sauna. We will definitely go back here.

Softest bed in Maine
Stayed at the Regency last night with a friend. The room was lovely, staff excellent, and they brought coffee to our room (gratis) in the morning. I was very pleased we chose it--until it was time to sleep.The mattress was made of thick memory foam or something similar and offered no support. Neither my girlfriend (in the other bed) nor I slept more than 3 hours--we kept thrashing about, waking up repeatedly, trying to get comfortable. This morning the desk clerk said they had plywood boards they could have put under the mattresses, had we asked. Clearly we were not the first customers with this problem. The place is absolutely sweet and charming otherwise, but utterly fails at providing you the basic hotel requirement: a comfortable bed. This was extremely surprising. I hope this message gives the hotel's management a push to replace the mattresses.

Great Hotel, Staff, and Location
Traveled to Portland over the weekend. My cousin and I stayed in the Governor's Suite. Great room with a gas fireplace and deck. We had just gotten to the room and cookies were delivered as a welcome. The spa was very nice and enjoyed my facial. Free coffee and tea delivered in the morning. Location was great as well, walk to great restaurants and shops.

Gorgeous Boutique Hotel Set in the Heart of the Old Port
I recently rented out the Governor's Suite to host a pre-outting get together for my sister's 40th birthday party. The room was spacious and gorgeous. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating to our gathering needs (even getting us a candle for the birthday cake!) And, when it was time to finally head out and get the real party started, all the great things that Old Port has to offer was directly at our feet. The next morning, the staff even suggested a great restaurant down the street to accommodate our large group. The hotel was clean, spacious, and in a perfect location. I can't say enough great things about the Portland Regency Hotel!
