Old hotel
We stayed at this hotel during a vacation to Washington DC. The front desk staff was courteous at check-in and check-out. The hotel is definitely a throw back to the 60's and 70's with very few updates since. The bathroom in our double-bed room was unbelievably small and the shower head was mounted so that anyone over 5'6" would have to duck to wash their hair. The continental breakfast is really sub-par. I've experienced a lot of these and this one offers fewer options than any other I've seen. There is an attendant who mans the waffle iron but there is a definite language barrier with her. When a large group of teenagers was handling the food with their hands and touching food and then putting it back, she didn't seem to understand my complaint and just kept shaking her head as I asked for fresh food to be put out. A major reason I booked this hotel was the free shuttle service they offer to the Metro station. The afternoon driver was not even slightly courteous and was a horrific driver. I stopped using the shuttle when I realized he was the driver every afternoon. The cost of the taxi was money well-spent to ensure my children's safety. If you are looking to avoid large groups of noisy teenagers - this is not the place for you. There were several groups booked during our stay and they were largely unsupervised, rude and loud. I had to ask them, more than one time, to watch their vulgar language around my young children at the pool and at breakfast. The hotel staff was nowhere to be seen and completely unresponsive to the complaints. Lastly, do not park your car around the back of the hotel. People are allowed to hang out back there at all hours and it's completely unsecured and unseen from the street.

Nicer than you would think
We checked in late at night and was greeted with a friendly smile and attitude by the front desk clerk. Room was very nice. Granite countertops and shower backsplash. Room was very clean and beds were quite comfortable. Room also was quite spacious.

Impressed
For an older hotel (judging on outside appearance) my boyfriend and I were very satisfied. Room was spacious, beds were comfortable, very clean. Room had been updated with granite countertops at sink as well as shower surround. Would definitely reccommend and stay there again. Staff was extremely friendly even at the late night check in.

Good Stay
We stayed here as part of a cheer-leading competition with my daughter. We had a great time with my daughter and her group. Staff was nice. Our room was clean and so was the property in general. The indoor pool and the "fundome" was a nice getaway when we were not away at the competition. All the families gathered around that area and had a nice time while the kids relaxed and played around. We stayed for 4 nights and would definitely recommend the hotel to any families and groups.

Don't expect much, and bring ear plugs
We Went here based on a decent rate for two nights in a jacuzzi room. The package included chocolates and champagne. The "fundome" was just the inside of the hotel with a blue sky painted ceiling covering a three hole putting green, an indoor pool, and two very old video arcade games. Oh i can't forget the shuffleboard court... The continental breakfast was half-rate and I saw no meat.... Just mini bagels and waffles and cereal. Could have done better at Hardee's. The room we had was an outside room, it was facing the street and nothing but people yelling and sirens and late-night partying and music thumping from cars. I don't believe I slept over an hour at a time the first night. The chocolates were just some hershey kisses wrapped in cellophane and the champagne was Andre, which is really horrible cheap champagne best used for mouthwash and we left it later unopened at a different hotel. DON"T EAT AT THE Asiatic Fusion bar/ Restaurant! we ordered some wings and shrimp appetizers and while the wings were okay, the fried shrimp were absolutely benign of any large taste of shrimp. It was basically fried breading. I wasn't impressed at all with the slow service being as we were the only ones in there ordering food. Overall this place was a haven for partying college kids on a low budget. Avoid.
