Good hotel all round
Stayed for 2 nights in executive suite, very clean hotel, nice friendly staff, would use again and would recommend. Nicely situated away from the hussle and bussle!Can't comment on food as we never had any but we heard good things from other guests!Ps. Anywhere in Amsterdam & schipol is not cheap for food and drink, this is not just the Hilton!

Looking forward new Hilton
This hotel is old and they are building new Hilton, which will open 2015. So the room is at old condition. The location is good. You only need 7 minutes walk inside parking garage and the hotel is at the end of garage. Executive lounge is so small and not so many varieties. They even cannot make cook-on-order eggs or omelet. If you eat breakfast at restaurant, the service is so slow if there is a tour. But the service at front desk is very nice.

Read the reviews and make a realistic choice based on price
We had an early check-in, 6:00am, on Monday, so we wanted to stay at one of the walking-distance hotels. We read the reviews here and trusted them because where there are so many, and they are fairly consistent, they are usually trustworthy. What you read here is pretty consistent, people just give different ratings depending on their expectations and what they paid.The public areas are small but very nice. The staff is very warm and helpful, as you see all through these reviews. The restaurant looked nice but was very expensive (no surprise). And the free lobby internet worked great. And trust me: it's a 5 minute walk to the terminal. Lots of food over there that's much cheaper.Now the downside: the rooms really do look like 1970s Hilton or Holiday Inn rooms. Our heat didn't even work and they brought us a space heater. The beds are very firm, not even close to a Westin Heavenly Bed or something similar.We expected all this so we bought this hotel entirely on price. I got it on Hotwire for $140 including all taxes. And for that price, I'd stay here again. It was exactly what we thought it would be and the price was fair given the circumstances. Although we could not see this hotel's name on Hotwire, we KNEW it would be this one because there are only two "walk to airport" hotels. Not much chance we'd be getting the newer, nicer Sheraton at the lower price.DO NOT be fooled into choosing this as a vacation hotel. And never spend $200 or more. But if you want a room to spend one night before your flight, this hotel is clean and very quiet and the staff is friendly. But you may need a space heater if it's cool outside. Maybe it's worth it to you to a better hotel for the same money but to ride the shuttle. To us, it was worth the quality difference to have the peace-of-mind of walking to our check-in.

Good value for money
It is the place torelax when you are flying and in transit. Although a short walking distance from the airport, the atmosphere and surrounding make it being far away from the airport. No noise of plane landing or taking off. Room service is great

Good hotel
Stayed in the Hilton Schipol for 1 night while in transit last week, hotel. Fond was very clean and tidy, food was good and service excellent. Sure it is a bit tired but the construction of a new hotel is well underway next door so one cannot be critical of the current hotel, they should be commended for recognising the issue and proceeding to build a new hotel. The walk from the airport was not bad, a leisurely 10 minute walk from the train station plaza area which also has a great selection of restaurants, shopping and a supermarket. The gym was also quite good, although a little small but was fine for me. Good hotel and would certainly stay again.
