Well used but well run
Got an excellent deal for a twin room at this hotel. Had a great welcome from a charming and helpful receptionist and the room was clean, comfortable and reasonably equipped. Yes, some parts of the hotel look a little tired and there can be a lot of walking involved. But it was good value and served the purpose of providing a fuss free night before a very early flight.

Refurb has certainly helped
Had not stayed here for some time and the refurbishment has certainly improved the image as it was looking tired and dated.However,the vastness of the place does project a very impersonal feeling to everything.Must say check-in was very efficient;helpful,courteous,and pleasant....unfortunately did not get the gentleman's name.A credit to the front desk.Room was small but well equipped and an extremely comfortable bed.However,one real down side was having to pay for wifi - that should be a "given" these days.i phoned guest services to question this and was given a very discourteous "take it or leave it" attitude.New bar area was a vast improvement.Breakfast next morning was really quite enjoyable with a good range of alternatives and a remarkably good hot buffet.

A "had better times" Hotel
The first impression big hotel long corridors, but run down. I can't say it's not clean, the attempts to maintain it are there (they were painting the doors of the rooms -as per room availability). The staff and the service in general was good, but couldn't get rid of that old and run down smell and feeling.

Very good Airport Hotel
This is one of the best hotels in Heathrow Area. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast spread is good, rooms are very spacious and appealing. There were only 2 problems: 1. They charge for ordering plates and cutlery from housekeeping (3 GBP). You can buy your own at this price. 2. Their air conditioning system is automated, which would refuse to hear or chill the room as required by the guest, which is a big drawback.I was given business lounge access, being a preferred SPG member, which was quite nice. Also they have go gree programme, where you skip housekeeping and they reward you with 5 GBP or 500 SPG points, which is a good add on.

Clean, convenient.
I stayed here one night before meeting a group for a garden tour. The reception and restaurant area had been refurbished since I was last there and looked quite nice and dinner in the restaurant was good but expensive. The room and corridor were a bit old and dated looking but clean.The bed was comfortable except for having only two tiny pillows on a queen sized bed. Also there was a lot of light from under the door (I put a towel across it) and from the thermostat and TV. (I usually carry a book of post-its to stick over these annoying lights but forgot to bring one on this trip.) Overall, reasonably comfortable, clean and conveniently located.
