Nice location, not a good place
1. The place is nearby Railway station, just lest than 5 minutes away.2. Gotico area is nearby the area already3. Lots of nearby food station around.4. Hotel has NO aircon so we are hust depending on the weather temperature around. The front desk did not inform us.5. The bellman is not doing his job to assist.6. Front desk is not friendly and showed irritable face whenever we ask questions. Not so friendly peiple around.7. Just a sturdy hotel with full or ebergy saving lights so the hallway you will pass in your room is dark ...8. Smelled like an old stuff, just a good place to put your things but not a good place to relax, bed is made if spring and really uncomfortable at all.9. No room service for food.10. Wifi is only available at the lobby. Sometimes not working too.

Great Location............nothing else going for it.
Really good location nice coffee and there are no more positives. Rooms small but clean. Nothing worked, empty mini bar, no air con and a crappy cot bed. Spent 3 nights here by the end of my stay I started to question was this actually a hotel. Dirty towels hung back up (from the floor) and bed sheets not changed. Do not stay here its a rip off high end price for zero service. 4 stars that's a complete joke.

great location but... it is the end of the list of advantages
If you want to spend more than 100 Euro per night... go to a different place than this hotel! The only good thing that may be said about Hotel Gotico is its location - just in the heart of the Gothic area of Barcelona! The room was tiny and the walls were so thin that when a couple who stayed in a room next to ours was having some intimate moments, the entire floor heard each detail. The breakfast is expensive and poor, the room was quite clean but the bathroom seemed old and not very clean. Air conditioning didn't work so I cannot even imagine staying in that hotel during hot summer in Barcelona. Really - go somewhere else!

Who gave them four stars?
I stayed in Hotel Gotico for 2 nights and the only good thing I can say about it is its location. The room was small, ugly and old, pillows uncomfortable, no WiFi in our room, no glasses, empty minibar, no full length mirror, no proper toiletries etc. On top of all that, we booked a special deal on hotel's website which promised that we will get "free breakfast, fruit basket and late checkout" - but when we arrived, we didn't get any of the promised"free advantages" because the receptionist didn't see this offer in his system and refused to call his manager to solve this issue saying that "he is abroad". I would never stay in this hotel again nor recommend it to my friends.

Good Location-Crappy Hotel
Spent 3 nights here. The location is wonderful but that is about all this hotel has going for it. The desk people were rude, obnoxious and unhelpful. The front desk was totally over whelmed by our arrival and people were encouraged to mark their own luggage with their room numbers or even better take it to their rooms themselves. (We had paid for porterage). Our first room was tiny, had only one usable electrical outlet and was stiflingly hot. There was a small window that opened to a central courtyard that must have vented the mechanical operations of the building: there was not a puff of air. The pillow was filled with small bits of foam and had an unpleasant smell. We asked to be moved and were told that the hotel was booked. We were given a new room that was marginally better for the 2n & 3rd nights. Our visit was to include breakfast and dinner in the hotel. Breakfast in teh hotel was ok but we had to walk a few blocks to another hotel owned by the same company for dinner. The restaurant was located in the bowels of the building and smelled like a sewer. One was left with the feeling that the management of this hotel really did not care or understand the concept of service.
