Good value for LA
Spent one night and found the value quite good. The rooms are well kept and bed was very comfortable. The outside appearance is not so great, but don't let if fool you. Hotel is within walking distance of a number of very casual restaurants.

Best bed I've ever slept in
The Azul Inn ended up being a great place to stay. The location was great and the beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in. I hated waking up! It does looks shady from the outside but the rooms inside are nice and clean. Worth the price.

Overall, a good place to stay...
We stay here on a regular basis because of necessity (visiting the VA Wadsworth Hospital in West LA).Azul Inn seems to have recently been renovated. The colors are bright turquoise blue throughout. This hotel is quite clean and we like the updated renovations. The bathrooms are especially modern. Good shower, fluffy towels, hair dryer, coffee machine, small fridge, comfy beds, flat screen TV, simple continental breakfast.Good location, directly across the street from the large, beautiful Mormon Church. Parking is easy, especially around the back of the building. Busy Santa Monica Blvd can be pretty noisy, depending on where your room is located. The only complaint we have is that the internet is terrible -- very slow to non-existent. This has been each and every time we've stayed here (6 or 7 times). The sign out in front of the hotel says that they offer fast high speed internet. I've complained about this to the front desk personnel and they reply that the management is "working on it." So far, no changes though.If you aren't trying to get online, this is a surprisingly decent and affordable place to stay.

Great location, goes downhill from there.
It's across the street from the Mormon Temple, 5 min from Westwood and UCLA, and close to Beverly Hills. Parking is easier than it looks, the breakfast is OK, bed comfy, TV OK, and plumbing good. Sound insulation is bad; an altercation at midnite in the room next door took 3 calls to desk and 45 min. to resolve; refrig and heater/AC very loud. Most rooms back an alley across from an apt. bldg. with very loud mechanical system. WiFi and desk setup good and room is clean.

Azul- Good place for the money
Much, much better than the Stars Inn and the Little Inn down the street. Spend a little extra money and stay here. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. Recent remodel greatly improved property.Negatives- parking difficult and no elevator to second floor/ forget the free coffee etc... that was terrible - go to Starbucks down the street instead. But, the location is great - We have business in Westwood and the hotels in Westwood charge a fortune. This place is a bargain and quite comfortable.
