Exactly what you expect!
The Super 8 is located minutes from the LAX airport in a so so part of town. It is also directly across from the Avis Rental Car (allowing me to save a day of rental rate by dropping it off and walking across the street).The room was ready when i arrived and it was a basic motel room. It was good sized with a king size bed and a small couch. Room was clean as was the bathroom. The shower was on the small size but not unmanageable.Free continental breakfast was available but certainly nothing to write home about - toast, waffles and 2 choices of cereal. Shuttle runs every 30 minutes and the driver was courteous and helpful. Helped me with my luggage. It was less than 10 minutes to the airport in morning rush hour.The potential negative of the location is that you are directly under the flight path so you can hear the planes quite well! however - most planes stop flying by 10pm or so and i had no trouble falling/staying asleep. In short -this is a basic inexpensive motel in a good location for a morning LAX flight.

Great location
This is one of the best locations to stay at LA, and the service was excellent also comparing to other Super8 I have stayed at. Right across the street are several car rental companies. No need to take the Super8 free shuttle back to the airport (runs free both ways). However, the Buget car rental is on the other side of the LAX airport. The free internet is very useful, also. This hotel offered a very good breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Creepy and kinda dirty. But cheap.
It was...well....clean?The bathroom window didn't lock, the shower head was about to my armpit, the room was just...kind of yucky. The neighborhood was iffy....but, it was cheap and we slept just fine.So, an average rating from me.

If you like planes flying over and homeless people camped outside your room this is the place for you!
Constant loud plane noise until well after 11pm. Starts up again at 5:30am or so. There was a small window in the bathroom. I open it up this morning to see what the weather is like (bad) and to watch another incoming plane fly over. Right below my window are 2 homeless dudes sleeping. Also note this window was open when I checked in last night.Two more reasons to stay in this place. One. You get to challenge yourself to make the shower work by fixing it using only your pocket sized bike tools. Two. The Gideons either haven't found this place or someone stole the Bible. The free breakfast and the airport shuttle were OK though. It was too cold to use to pool so I can't say anything about that.
