My party and myself will certainly return to visit the South Point Hotel and Casino. The Casino was very accomodating. We were able to use a wheelchair at no charge on the premises. Coupons were honored, and the opportunities at the casino and spa are endless; many options to choose from for all ages!!!

So I should have known ahead of time when I called the hotel to confirm they showed my reservation (which I had made thru my AMEX travel website) and to confirm with my severely asthmatic son that my room would be non smoking. It took 18 minutes (yes, 18 minutes) from the time someone answered the phone and trasferred me to the reservation desk before someone answered... at a resort property, really? When we arrive on April 26th I realize I have made a big mistake within minutes. Check in line was super long and took almost 20 minutes before I was up to the Check In Counter... I was greeted as had been everyone before me with a nice, very impersonal "NEXT" as if I were cattle and clearly communicating that the staff member checking me in hated thier job.Initially I thought our room would be pleasant. It was big, and looked to be in pretty good shape. That was, until the horrible experience took a new turn. Rude employees is one thing. Impersonal treatment another.How about a large amount of hair in your shower? Yes, well in excess of 15 strands of hair (red hair- no one in my family has red hair) was all over the shower walls. I immediatley called to the desk and was transferred twice before someone assured me they would be right up to our room to take care of. I told them we would be leaving so we were out of the way. We left for the evening.As we left the casino I watched an elderly woman trip on a major wrinkle in thier carpet, just inside what I beleive was supposed to be the main doors- I looked down as she tried to regain her footing to see what she had tripped on, it was the carpet! Really- your main entrance and you can't even keep up with this? This woman, thank goodness did not wipe out as her husband and adult son caught her just in time.After a late night out we return to our room. The hair clearly based on how much there was, had never even been attempted to be cleaned out. I again called down to the desk and was told how sorry they were and they would get right on it. Being as two of my kids had came right back to the room and fell right asleep I told them I would appreciate it if they would just ensure it was resolved the next morning.Our next day we do some Las Vegas stuff and then decide to head back to the hotel so the kids can swim. We arrive at the room to hair still just as it was a full day earlier and two calls prior, when we checked in. So I called again and was told someone would be up while we swam.My family trekked down to the pool. BEWARE there are not nearly enough lawn chairs for the amount of guests they have using the facilities, and oh by the way- the Lifeguard was sleeping while we were swimming (yes, sleeping- some of the other guests there were actually taking pictures of him sleeping). ALSO- we saw a large amount of chairs with broken strapps and clearly not safe but people were using because there were no other options.We go back to the room- still hair. We assumed they just had not made it yet, so we left to go out and some other things. When we got back later that night, again with kids fast asleep from busy days trying to fit everything in, we check and still hair! I call down now fed up and ask to have a Manager call me and that this must be resolved the next morning.Next day we go about our stuff, and upon returning there is still hair, and I had not yet heard from a Manager. I was fed up, I called down to the desk and as I was doing this my wife pulled back the sheets on one bed and there were three large beetle type bugs that came running acrossed the bed and back behind the bed. After I pulled the bed out and took care of these bugs so my wife would calm down I called back demanding some help and acknowledgment from what had thus far been a totally non-existant Management team. This hotel is best value for newer Las Vegas Hotel and casino. Lots to do for anyone. Bowling, movie theater casino and many restaurants. Micheal's is a high end steak house but be prepared to pay for the whole cow. You can buy a bottle of vodka for what a single drink costs. A huge complex. Resort charge for wi-fi and gym are a rip off.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days. Staff were very friendly and efficient on check in. Very disappointed that they are now charging a$14.resort fee. Please keep that in mind as added cost to your daily rate.It will cover wifi which we use. Shuttle services which we don't.Our room was spacious.Really liked the large vanity area in bathroom.No fridge or coffee pot in room,which would have been nice. Housekeeping excellent.It is a long way down from the center of the strip and downtown.

I have stayed here several times now and have always been impressed by the standard and cleanliness of the accommodation. It is true that it is not convenient to the main strip area, but I believe that means it provides much better value for money. If you want to gamble, you only need one casino to do so, and there really is no reason to leave a resort which offers so many things to entertain. As well as the casino and pool offered by most hotel casinos, there is a cinema, bowling alley and an equestrian arena. The shop is excellent, with a full liquor store and there is a good selection of restaurants. They also serve great hot dogs in the casino for only 75 cents!!
