What a Fun Place to Stay
We took my man's mother here for several nights last month (April 2013). It was the first time staying here for all 3 of us. Our rooms were on the 16th floor with great views outside and into the interior of the pyramid. There were two attractions there: The Titanic Exhibit, and The Bodies Exhibit. We had already seen both of them, but took our guest to The Titanic Exhibit. It was an amazing as we remembered. Well worth the entry fee. The slot machine gambling was good and we left with a good deal more than we had when we arrived. Not always true in Vegas. So we were very happy about that. There were a number of places to eat from fast food to fine dining. Our first morning we ate breakfast at the cafe. All 3 of us had a simple, light breakfast. The bill was over $68. After that sticker shock, we did not eat any more meals at the Luxor. Though it meant taking the tram to nearby hotels, or driving to others we like, we felt the Luxor's very high food prices were completely unwarranted. We will not be staying there again, even though the rooms were comfortable and we had a great time. It is too inconvenient when you cannot eat the bulk of your meals where you are staying.

Friends don't let friends stay at the Luxor.
I'd rather be doing something other than remembering how awfully I was treated here, but someone has to put this in print. I will be following up with formal letters at some point. Yes. That bad. Back-story:While we were being pummeled in Boston by the Blizzard of 2013, which was so severe that it brought out the National Guard, closed the Airport, and required a ban on ALL driving, we were also frantically trying to save our vacation trip to Vegas from being completely ruined. To that end, we called Jet-Blue, our travel provider. The Jet-Blue agents snapped right to 'how can we help you' mode - and assisted us with flight changes and baggage concerns etc, and told us that they would take care of us no matter what, and it would all be at no extra charge. When they came to our hotel provider, they said that they would have to put us on hold, while they changed the dates with the LUX0R (our first Vegas trip, we didn't know that this place was as bad as it was). To shorten this: the LUX0R would not cancel, refund or change our existing reservations, until they had proof that the flight was cancelled. Well, they could have turned on any TV, it WAS the news for a few days. Anyway, we were faced with the decision of waiting for them to make things right which could have taken 4 days - or rebook with Jet-Blue and eat the day we missed. We chose the latter, and off we go to the LUX0R. Upon arrival:We speak to the desk clerk, GINNIFER with a 'G'. I explain that we were paying for a room since the day before, but that we are just arriving. This takes a while for her to process, and then with a huff, and no eye contact she stabs at some keys and tries to check us in. The process is needlessly long, and during it she says nothing, and won't look at us. I decide that since I'm being ignored, I might as well explain that we are already unhappy and that she certainly isn't helping. She then starts to argue with me, and insinuating that I was lying and trying to get something for nothing. I tell her forget it, just get me my key, I'll deal with this later. She says 'credit card'. Nothing else. I hand her my card. She swipes it, and then says loudly "this card is no good" so that everyone standing in line could hear it. I say 'that's not possible, it's at zero balance, and it has several thousand in limit". Instead of prolonging this pain, I hand her another card through gritted teeth. She does the same routine. I'm about to really lose my patience, and my wife knows I'm about to blow, so she steps up and hands GINNIFER with a "G", her version of the same credit card that I just tired. GINNIFER swipes this one and then says "this one is good". I told her that that's funny, it's exactly the same card number and account - just with my wife's name on it, so I asked her to explain. She says - "you saw me swipe them! " Obviously, this isn't the first time this trick has been employed, and if GINNIFER with a 'G' doesn't like you, she will mess with your day - and lie, and insult you in front of as many people as possible.A manager arrives, so GINNIFER with a "G" takes to hiding behind him, so that she can make faces at me and my wife, while he's talking. I can't remember this guys name at the moment, but he essentially tells me that he will get me a key, but, first thinks it's wise to take that time to do some damage control - while I'm livid and just wanting my key. I'm so pissed by this point, I ask my wife to finish it with him, as I don't want to be jailed. The end result was that he was almost as bad as GINNIFER with a 'G'. This whole torment apparently got us two breakfast buffet vouchers. I told him I wanted nothing from them. I did end up using them though. The finish:I don't pay people to insult me, and I don't appreciate liars where I leave my financial information - so I won't ever stay at this trailer-park-with-pyramid ever again. They would have to improve tremendously to be Motel-6 level. Frien

Truly Unique Experience.
We had one of the rooms in the pyramid, which was spacious and offered good views. Nicely appointed. Hold on to the walls when the elevator starts as it is going on an angle. We only ate here once. $70 for breakfast in the cafe for the 3 of us...we had pancakes...was startling. That first night we drove to the Prime Rib Loft at the Orleans and had 3 prime rib dinners that were 5 star and cost the same as our pancake breakfast. The gambling is good and the slots remarkably loose. We did find hotel security to be remarkably LACKING.

Just ok
I don't visit Las Vegas often but I'm sure there are nicer places to stay. Checking in was a challenge. I guess I was dropped off at the wrong location but I couldn't find my way to the main check in. I ended up at the group sales check in and while they did agree to check me in there they were not at all pleasant about it. The room was average, not bad, not great. Parking was free but felt 100miles away from my room. On the positive side, many things to do in and close to, the hotel. Great variety of food choices and shopping through the walkways. I was looking forward to going to the pool when I checked in on a Sunday but, it turns out that the Luxor promotes a big "gay" pool party on Sunday so... I'm not against that but, I probably would have picked another hotel if had known ahead of time. I came in from a cold climate and was really looking forward to some pool time and since I was there for business Sunday was the only day I had available. I try another place next time.

Great hotel, long check in lines.......
When we first arrived we were quite impressed with the spectacle of the place - it's pretty fun, looks awesome inside and out. Lots to do here, good location for exploring the strip - easy to get taxis from the attendants at the main entrance. You're looking at a good $20 to get downtown from the Luxor though. Check in line took about 45 mins and considering we had be travelling for about 24 hours we did not want to stand in line waiting for our beds for that long! Rooms were in the east tower, they had comfy beds and were clean and tidy, quite tasteful too. No coffee making facilities in rooms however. Bit annoying. Also no wifi in these rooms. We asked the concierge and you can only get it in the Luxor in one small place on the casino floor. What grand hotel like this, in a city like this, doesn't have wifi in the rooms!!!???
