Perfect Location! - Hotel with Character
I stayed at this hotel in July 2012, and its location is central and within easy walking distance of major tourist attractions; eg., Bourbon Street, Riverwalk, the Casino/Deenie's Restaurant. Although it rained horrendously the entire length of my stay, my friend and I were still able to experience New Orleans. Both my friend and I are smokers, so we had a very large and comfortable smoking room with two queen-sized beds. The room was large enough that neither of us got in each other's way! I loved the brick-facing walls in the bedroom, and the bathroom was large and modern with great water pressure. I felt perfectly safe staying at this property and highly recommend it. The front-desk staff were very friendly, courteous and professional -- easily extended the "southern hospitality." It's really hard to believe that this hotel was formerly warehouses, but it exudes the warmth and charm of an historical building with character.Granted, it doesn't come with the bells and whistles of the properties just around the corner, but I wouldn't trade its proximity from the center of New Orleans for anything! Its location is perfect, it's clean, safe and managed professionally. What more do you need? After all, you're not planning to "rent or buy" there!At the time of my stay, there was a "free" breakfast each morning, but I wasn't impressed with it. The wait staff was amazing because a maze of guests materialized around 7:30 a.m. The food was mainly mainly fruit, cereal and microwavable foodstuff. The coffee was quite good, and you could find something that would deter the hunger pains until you ventured out.So, all in all, I believe I got my money's worth at Country Inn & Suites New Orleans!

A very nice gem
The hotel was close enough to everything to walk to, and far enough away so as to not be in the thick of all the noise. Perfect!. The staff was friendly and eager to help, without that overbearing sense. They could sense when you wanted to be left alone, or when you needed something. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. They had black out shades on the windows, so you could sleep in without the sunlight pouring in. They maintained fresh cookies in the lobby, and the bar held a happy hour every evening. I also liked the atmosphere of the hotel in general. They fit the hotel into several old buildings, left the ambiance of the old, and improved tactfully with the modern. The breakfast that comes with the room was way above usual, it was a full hot and cold breakfast, with choices for diabetics too. One suggestion for improvement, hopefully they will get around to serving better coffee. Rates for the rooms reflected quality, which I don't mind paying for. Overall, great place to stay, should I find myself back in New Orleans, I would definitely stay here again.

amazing hotel
The hotel was wonderful. The room was nice, with comfy beds. The hotel staff were more than accommodating. It was nice to have a pool in the middle of the city. Checking in and out was fast. The hotel is within walking distance to lots of places. The car never needed to be moved from valet. Overall, the stay was great and we plan on staying here again this year. We recommend this hotel to anyone who wants the old New Orleans feel.

Great place, nice and clean
I am staying in the hotel and writing this review. We have been travelling in USA for a month or so and stayed in few hotels. This little gem is one of the good ones. For the moderate price(Hotwire) you get a large room with a big King bed. Breakfast is included and a lot to choose. Clean and close to Canal street, we are loving our stay.

Great location, clean rooms, hotel with character
This hotel has a superb location. Technically in the CBD, it's a short walk to the French Quarter without the craziness and the noise. It's an even shorter walk to the Charles St. streetcar, which can take you to the Garden District and Audubon Park. It's easy to get a good night's sleep after a full day of living it up. The hotel is full of character, especially the lobby, as you can see from traveler's photos. Exposed brick and beams, comfortable seating, and a shaded courtyard pool provide areas for you to relax outside your room. Our room did not have any outwardly-facing windows, so there was only dim natural light from the atrium side. The upside is that it was extremely quiet. Our daylight hours were spent exploring the city, so this situation worked out well.The staff was friendly¿¿¿we generally found everyone in NOLA to be friendly. The free breakfast was above average, but give it a pass at least once and make sure you walk around the corner to Mother's for a true southern breakfast.The hotel was overbooked on our first night, so we were moved to the Drury (currently #2 on TripAdvisor), which is around the corner. I was quite annoyed at first, but they made good by refunding that night and upgrading our room to a King Suite for the rest of our stay. They also paid for the cab ride to and from (though the tip was left to us). The Drury was comprable in a lot of ways (quality, service, etc.), but is a bit farther away from the French Quarter. If you're not a business traveller I would recommend the Country Inn & Suites.
