Always a nice place to stay
Our fourth time here and as always a lovely relaxing place to spend a weekend. I won't repeat what I've said in previous reviews. All that still holds true. Let me just comment on a couple of little niggles:1. We had a bigger family unit with some of the rooms locked up. We have had this before and it's not an isue. If anything, it's a bigger unit so more room to spread out and a bigger garage. However, we were right next to the pool. If you had kids with you this might be fine. We didn't and it wasn't. Lots of noise coming from only several metres away: this plays havoc with the sought after serenity. If you're a couple ask specifically for a unit away from the pool area.2. All units have the same furniture. Overall it's nice but the flatter style couch is in serious need of some extra padding or (better) replacing. I think it's seen better days.3. The Compendium is in some SERIOUS need of editing so I got to it with a pen. It will be useful to know if they have taken up the editing suggestions. It was so bad that it only reflects negatively on management. Believe me, you will know if they haven't made the changes. Please, keep me posted.4. Nice salt and pepper containers in the pantry: unfortunately bereft of both salt and pepper. Some S and P would be great in the unit.The DVD player probably needs some instructions to ascertain quickly how to make it work. Once you realise that the remotes don't have all the necessary buttons and that you have to change a button on the TV you're set. Until you reach that point though it's a little frustraing.Other than these things: still a lovely place.

Quarterdecks Hervey Bay
We stayed in a one bedroom villa. Overall the complex was very clean and well maintained. Large spa and BBQ facilities around the pool area were very nice. Unfortunately we had rain during our stay which rendered the spa and pool unusable because heyt were solar heated. Complex is very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre however there are no shops within walking distance, if you wanted to get up and just get a coffee and paper from the local store you had to walk down to the boat harbour. The upside is that the complex is only a 2 minute drive from the best entertainment in Hervey Bay "The Boat Club"The room itself was probably a little disappointing. The kitchen was modern and the appliances were fantastic, the bathroom and toilet were a little worn. The shower cubicle itself was tiny and required me to take a deep breath to even close the door, the shower rose was loose requiring you to hold it at all times. The bedroom was adequate but only just, the bedside radio was only capable of picking up one station and it wasn't to our liking, I would have scored the bedroom higher had it had a TV. Due to the rain we spent long periods in the unit with no pay TV and only talk back radio, WIFI internet was fast and reliable. The courtyard backed onto some bush which was filled with native birds and frogs which we enjoyed, however it lacked shelter and again due to the rain rendered the area unusable most of the time, unfortunately the wife had to brave the wet to have a cigarette.After the reviews I read I expected better, we booked our holiday through sunseekers, perhaps we were assigned a cheaper room? I would only recommend to people who like it nice and quiet and are happy to travel to attractions, restaurants, bar and clubs.

A spacious and clean surprise.
Our 2-bedroom unit was much better than any hotel room in the area; the unit was supplied with everything we needed. Great location for a quiet retreat. Would recommend this for people planning to stay more than one night.

Nice apartments, but not a 5 star complex
We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa which was modern and clean and we felt very comfortable. The air-con was a blessing and the garage was also convenient. The bedroom was a bit small but neat and the linen was crisp and clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The patio furniture wasnt very clean so for this reason we didnt sit outside. The TV had very limited channels, 90% for young children. The communal facilities, ie. were very limited. The pool and BBQ area was very small. We went out of season and felt cramped with a few people using the facilities. This is the reason I have stated it is not a 5 star complex. I would hate to see it during peak holiday periods with lots of kis wanting to use the pool.We were however in Hervey Bay to enjoy the area and the location wasnt too bad but not ideal. We had to drive everywhere as it was way too warm to walk and the restaurants were quite a distance away. The reception staff were very friendly and professional.

The BWPQR has everything you need if you want to relax in a very pleasant environment. The apartments were amazing, furniture & decor was to a very high standard. Having a garage was brilliant. The spa was a very good size and bbq facilities very clean. Although a little walk from the Pier, I would certainly stay here again and highly recommend. Service was brilliant, out of hours my key lock battery went but this was resolved in 10 minutes! Television could have done with some sport channels if you're kitting out people for a retreat.....
