I recently stayed at the Arrival Accommodation Centre in Southport for nine nights. I booked a single room with a single bed but was given a room with two single beds in it. It's important to note that the Arrival Accommodation is not a hotel or motel, in fact I would not consider it a hostel. It's simply just a bed with a roof over your head. My room was clean which was good, however it seems that the owners are too lazy to clean the communal bathrooms daily. Men and women share the bathrooms together. So because the owners don't bother to clean the bathroom daily I could not help but wonder if they bother to clean the communal kitchen daily, I have to admit the kitchen looked clean but I suspect it was people staying in the accommodation who cleaned the kitchen and not the owners daily. The pool was small, but acceptable. The Accommodation Centre is close to public transport and is only an easy five minutes walk to Australia Fair shopping centre, its only a short bus or taxi trip into Surfers Paradise. I recommend the Accommodation Centre if your a young single male only looking for a bed for the night, but for everybody else I would advise that they avoid the Arrival Accommodation Centre in Southport.

This is a fine, safe place to stay but it's not near the beach, or any main attractions in the area, so it's really just a place to sleep. You can walk around the area, but it's not extremely well-lit at night, if that concerns you. Staff is nice, the rooms were a bit bare but clean, with plenty of lighting, outlets for charging, etc. Showers/bathrooms are clean and quite large.

Unhygienic all I can say. Trouble just to ask for a god damn new pillow case, lady brought it back a week later. Bed bugs ravaged my body at night rudeness from female manager (larger lady, don't even go to ask for a thing) disgusting really.

Arrived at accommadation and was given key to our room, looked so shabby & dirty asked for key to another room but that was no better, told reception it was not what we saw on their web page, was advertised as a Hotel, also another lady was at the counter saying it's not what she has seen on the web page either and asked to speak to the Manager, he would not answer the phone when receptionist rang so she took their business card & left, we left also after paying for four nights in advance, layed a complaint but never go our money back, our advise to others is do not stay at this place, staff not helpful at all.

When I saw the photos on the website this place looked nice - something that it's not.I knew it's a budget accommodation and that it had shared bathroom and kitchen, but the minimum I expect from any accommodation is cleanness.I can't believe someone else wrote on the review that the hostel is sparkling clean, maybe they got there on the day of the weekly clean! I wasn't that lucky!The room and bathroom were dirty, the sheets looked dirty too. The reception service was very poor and not professional.This hostel is far away from Surfers Paradise centre, you will need a bus or taxi.I don't recommend and won't go back there, it was an awful experience.
