I'd stay again for activities along the Thames
I booked two rooms at Novotel London City South for my family and some out of town guests. One of our rooms was upgraded to a suite upon check-in, which was nice. The other room, an "Executive Room," was a bit tight for a family of five, but manageable. Both rooms were nice, clean, and quiet. I felt the beds and pillows were a bit firm for my taste.At first, I had reservations saying on the South Bank, thinking I'd miss out on all the action. However, there is plenty to see and do along the Jubilee Walk along the Thames. The Globe is nearly across the street from the hotel. The Original London Sightseeing Tour has two lines that stop just 100 yards from the hotel. The Shard is nearby, as well as Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Tube stops Southwark (Jubilee) and London Bridge (Jubilee/Northern) provide easy transportation access.I saved ¿¿200 by switching from another hotel located at Edgeware Road to Novotel London City South. The breakfast (hectic!) and dinner service were both good, as well reception, room service, and housekeeping. I'd stay here again and recommend you check it out when looking for rooms in London, especially families.

Not cheap but still good value for money
Stayed at Novotel London South with family (2+3)Rooms are quite small, with very limited space for clothing, but for a few nights its OK.Breakfasts are fantastic, crowded at 9, so better be earlier, but quality and variety of food served is very good.Location is superb - close to Tate, London Bridge, Shard. Londo Eye. Close to subway, close to couple of supermarkets (Tesco, M&S).Strongly recommend for family trip.For those who are runners - also good location, you can do your morning loop at pathway along Thames river or at St James Park, nearby.

Very nice hotel
Very nice hotel near the tubestation "London Bridge". The rooms are big and clean. Gym - small, but new. WIFI - it is a shame it only is free in the lobby. Breakfast, small buffet and a cue between 9-10 am.

Excellant nothing to fault
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Very clean rooms with everything we needed. The bar prices were very good, less than we pay in australia for an upmarket hotel. The reception staff thru to the food and bev staff were excellant. As for waiting as another reviewer stated, waiting in a line for breakfast, we thought the same the line was long but we were seated in less than 5 minutes. The breakfast manager was very efficient.. The markets just up the road were excellant and so were the local restaurants with in walking distance. Would defiantly stay again. Nothing to fault as far we were concerned.

Good Location for business but very quiet at nighttime
The Hotel was clean and offered a good breakfast.Arriving at 11 pm, the bar was closed and not any hot food available.Room was comfortable.Self check in was slow and laborious at 11pm !Breakfast was good but very noisy. Families on a Thursday morning.Would stay again but only if other favourites were not available.
