What a great place for a long week end
We recently stayed at Longitude 131 for 3 nights - it is a great place - you pay your lot - and that is it - everything - , sunrises, sunsets, meals in the Dunes, trips, lots of good drinks/wines , company, great staff etc .Rooms are very good - the view of Uluru is sensational from all parts of the "tent" which are great rooms You can do this adventure for 2 nights if you arrive by say 2pm and leave after noon on the last day- you will do all the tours Those with another one/two nights should visit Kings Canyon - 300km plus away - probably should stay the night there and do the walk -4 hrs or make sure you do the longer walk at Kata Tjuta(Olgas) - Valley of Winds - about 6-7km whilst staying at Longitude 131 - think Longitude should put that on the tour for those staying 3 days This is the place to put on the bucket list- unique, great food wines and experiences - you will talk about it with friends for years

meet location and hospitality
visiting australia, means to travel to ayers rock - of course. but where to stay? we chose the longitude 131 as it had been referred to us as one of the very special australian good (very good) hotels - here we are , and we do not regret. its location is magnificent, yes - you are looking straight at ayers rock , from your king size bed of your tent (mirroring all lovely luxury items such as modern bathroom, hot water, drinking water, space, privacy, nespresso machine and so on ), from the veranda at the main house , from the pool - this rock never leaves you, when you stay here.the staff is incredible - i had no clue, that there are so many who are taking care of you to make your stay as comfortable as possible - every day we are meeting new in house members, every day there are new tour guide who are explaining you on the different tours nature, people, tradition and and and .the food: ohhhhhhh, the she-chef (sorry, i have forgotten her name) must be an utmost creative person, tasty 4-course dinners, a nibble-on breakfast-buffet from 5.30am in the morning before the first tour , pastries during the tours (all home made), it is endless - but you cannot rely on any diet , you might have planned, here you want to taste all the creations from the kitchen!yes, the price is high, and it is worth it!

Push the Boat Out!!
Yes, its expensive! And yes, we did agonize before going there to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary but you what, it was worth it! Longitute 131 is in a league of its own. I am thrilled to have been and cannot recommend it highly enough. Premier Australian hotels often lack that attention to detail, that extra something deserving of its price bracket but this place doesn't. I could not find fault in anything (and my husband will attest to this not being normal for me). From the moment you land in this spectacular environment you feel privileged and most importantly of all, as if you are the only guest they are expecting. It's not that the staff are the best in the business, they're better. They have that most rare characteristic trait of perfectly trained service providers - the human touch. It is good without seemingly trying to be. Unobtrusive, yet attentive. The room was perfect, comfortable and private and for those addicted to internet you will be pleased to know it is instantly accessible (and reliably so) everywhere in the resort, not least on the ipad they provide in your room! There are no baths (and I love my bath!) but even this could not dampen my enthusiasm, it simply did not matter. We arrived at mid day so had plenty of time to settle in before lunch. Sarah welcomed us on arrival and shared with us the suggested itinerary for the following two days and needless to say we took advantage of everything on offer. Its all included, anyway. The 5am start proved not very popular and we were amazed to be one of only two couples who participated in each morning excursion. In the evening of the first night we ate under the stars and were treated to a journey through the star system by an enthusiastic amateur astronomer but as wonderful a surprise as this was the best thing about Longitude 131 was the food. The chef was nothing short of marvelous. Every course, every taste sensation was superb and the presentation exemplary. I am not one to wax lyrical about every place I visit (again, my husband will agree) but this place has the very rare, almost unique quality of being spectacular in both location and hospitality. You need no more than two days and I suggest no fewer either. Go on, don't procrastinate, push the boat, do it! Its the best small fortune you'll ever part with!!

Disappointed
Its not often I leave a Luxury resort disappointed but the Easter break at Longitude 131 left us unhappy and let down. To be a Luxury Lodge the property needs to work hard at all levels but more work is need here. Its good but not great.

The Ultimate
This must be one of the best hotels in the world, I strongly believe it is the best I have ever stayed in.to be able to wake up looking at Uluru at dawn!most rooms did not need curtains as nothing went past.what can we say about the service, where nothing we asked for was refused. They organise trips to the Rock and the Olgas inclusiveThe room is huge, as is the bathroom, food is fantastic, Eating dinner under the stars, I could go on for ever.however perfection is not cheap, otherwise I would still be there, in the pool with a large glass of wine :)
