Clean room, great location, no fridge.
The front desk was really friendly, the location was great, the room was clean, and the price was good, but there was no fridge in the room. We just filled the sink with ice, but it still would have been nice to know.

The Dump and the Dive
On arrival with lots of luggage outside the hotel,we were told " No porters or other help"Some other visitors who had had the same experience the previous day helped us.At the lift when we asked what next we were then shown some luggage trolleys,not a very good start.By contrast the female receptionists were helpful re printing boarding passes and recommending restaurants.No restaurant in hotel,breakfast was available in an adjoining bar and was OK,It led directly from the lobby and after midday was very noisy and full of drinkers with 3 -4 large TV screens.The room was small and basic.I expected better from a BA listed hotel

Never on a week-end
One to be avoided, if you are staying over a week-end.We were on the first floor above the nightclub which is open until 3am. Althought the hotel staff were very good and helpful, this issue with the noise is out of their control. Hotel could make customers aware of this.Room was ok for the price paid.If I was going back to Vancouver I would not stay here again but spend the extra for a better located hotel.

Very average
The Front staff are really lovely and helpful. The rooms are small, dated and smelly if your on the east side of the hotel. Thankfully they moved us when we complained about the smell. its in a Great location however it will get noisier at the weekend. Some local restaurants that are high up in the ratings on trip are nearby

people are always so quick to write negative reviews. I am taking the time to write a positive one as I recently yet again stayed at HJ in Vancouver and had an enjoyable stay. The staff is always warm and welcoming,helpful and knowledgable of the ongoings in the city. My room as in my past experience was clean and prepared/ready when I arrived. I highly recommend the HJ Vancouver!! Thank you to the management team and their staff...Keep up the good work:)
