At Hotwire, we believe that being part of the travel business includes the responsibility to take care of our world. As global citizens, we aim to build community, foster sustainable travel, support charitable organizations, and have some fun while we're at it.

Our initiatives and programs include:

In order to help balance the impact that travel has on the environment, we partner with our customers to fund emission reductions. When customers purchase offsets through our program with TerraPass, they pay half of the cost that TerraPass normally charges - because we pay the rest.

Our annual community service day is a great opportunity to engage with our surroundings, work together, and take a break from the office. This program has been around since our inception, and past projects include cleaning beaches, repairing parks, tutoring children, making birthday cards for senior citizens' centers, and assisting in food banks.

Employees can nominate organizations they care about for twice yearly grants, or ask Hotwire to sponsor events for charities. Expedia, Inc. will also match employee gifts up to $5,000 per year for eligible charities.

The World Heritage Alliance is a collaboration between Expedia, Inc. and the United Nations Foundation in consultation with UNESCO's World Heritage Center. The initiative aims to raise awareness of World Heritage sites, encourage sustainable travel, and support local economic development.
